Si Sarah Geronimo mismo ang naglagay ng pin sa boyfriend nitong si Matteo Guidicelli sa Donning of Rank ceremony ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Si Matteo ay itinalaga bilang 2nd lieutenant sa seremonyang ginanap sa AFP Headquarters, Fort Bonifacio, ngayong Martes, August 20.
Ang 2nd lieutenant rank na iginawad kay Matteo ay naging posible matapos aprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang commissionship ng aktor noong August 7.
Ayon sa Facebook account ng AFP: “The actor-reservist was recognized for his volunteerism in using his influence to promote peace and impart patriotism especially to the Filipino youth in Mindanao region in addition to his completion of the Scout Ranger Orientation Course last June.”
Bukod kay Sarah, dumalo rin sa seremonya ang pamilya ni Matteo.
Samantala, kitang-kita naman sa mga larawan kung gaano ka-proud si Sarah sa kanyang boyfriend.
Makikita rin sa mukha ni Matteo kung gaano siya kasaya na ang kanyang girlfriend ang naglagay ng pin insignia.
April 2019 nang pumasok si Matteo sa 30-day training ng Philippine Army.
Sa kanyang statement, sinabi ni Lt. General Macairog S. Alberto ang kahalagahan ng pagpasok ng mga artista bilang Army reservists.
“These celebrities who are part of the Reserve Force, they can help project a better image for our country, better image for the Armed Forces because people listen to them.
"So it will encourage other members of the society to join the Armed Forces, lalo na yung mga kabataan natin,” pahayag ni Alberto.
Bukod kay Matteo, sumali rin bilang Army reservist ang ABS-CBN stars na sina Gerald Anderson, Elmo Magalona, Nash Aguas, Yves Flores, at Jerome Ponce.
Kamakailan din ay nagpa-enlist si Cesar Montano bilang reservist sa Naval Reserve Command ng Philippine Navy.
