The Gift director LA Madridejos assures fans of the show that they have consultants while taping medical procedures and hospital scenes in the show.
In the September 27 episode of the GMA-7 teleserye, the character of Alden Richards named Sep was rushed to the hospital after he was shot by an unknown assailant in the head.
While doctors were trying to revive him, Sep had a seizure and registered a flat line on the heart monitor.
On Twitter, netizens expressed their comments about the episode.
One netizen wrote to Madridejos, pointing out some corrections about the medical scene.
The netizen using the Twitter handle @valerinepaloma1 wrote, "Oh no Direk!!dpat po intubated ang patient kng nag code blue.saka wala po seizure pg may hypovolemia na. loss of conciousness lng po."
According to sciencedirect.com, hypovolemia is "a reduction in circulating blood volume."
Direk Madridejos quoted the tweet and replied, "Hello. May ER doctor na consultant nung nagsshoot. Tapos pag mali sinasabi nya tapos nagccut kami. Inuulit namin pag hindi approved sa kanya. Pero will double check this. Salamat."
On October 1, Direk Madridejos posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Alden's hospital scenes wherein nurses could be seen attaching him to cables for the hospital monitor.
He wrote in his tweet, "BTS. Nilalagyan si Sep sa katawan nung mga cables para sa hospital monitor. Salamat dun sa mga totoong nurse and doctors na naging consultant namin sa taping. #TheGiftKapitLang"
