Ayon kay Paolo, “Well, the good news is he’s not dead.

“So he’s always been struggling since bata pa siya.

“So I thought it was pretty brave of him na naglabas siya, I mean, in-admit niya online kung ano yung mga struggles niya.

“You know, ever since nung mga 10 years ago nung nasa ASAP pa siya, nung nagsu-showbiz pa siya, he’s always been struggling, but we didn’t officially know, wala pa siyang diagnosis nun.”

“He’d tell me, ‘Kuya, I don’t know kung anong nangyari. I don’t know why I did that.’

“And I applaud him for being brave enough to admit that there was something wrong.”

Ayon kay Paolo, na siyang panganay sa Valenciano siblings, “He texts me all the time, you know...

“And he tells me na he has good days and bad days.

ROAD TO RECOVERY

“They understand his situation. And, you know, he’s been excelling.

“For the first time in how many years, game na ulit siya sumayaw.

“Kasi there was a time na ayaw na niya sumayaw, ayaw na niya mag-showbiz.

“At least now, medyo he’s getting back into it na.

“So, yeah, you know, he’s very open to me about the struggles that he goes through.

I’m not okay, please pray for me.’

“Minsan, he will tell my mom and my dad na, ‘Why I am here?’ ‘Why I am alive?’ and all that.

“And then, we have good days na, you know, he wants to go to church, he wants to ride his bike, he wants to do all these things.

“So, I guess, it really comes with the sickness.”

Saad ni Paolo, “Ever since na na-diagnose siya, he has agreed to see a psychiatrist, see his doctor regularly.

“So, that really helped a lot.

“You know, alam mo yung ginawa [niya] na nag-post siya sharing about his struggles, four or about three years ago, he would have never done that.

“So this was something that, you know, I just felt, like, it’s almost like the road to recovery.

“So, we were happy about that.”
