Regine Velasquez apologizes for "insensitive comment" about Payatas on YouTube vlog

Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez apologizes for "insensitive comment" about Payatas on her vlog posted on YouTube. She wrote on Twitter, "It was not intentional and I should be more careful with the things I say. Pasensya na po God bless bless po :)"

Humingi ng paumanhin si Regine Velasquez dahil sa "insenstive comment" niya sa kanyang bagong vlog tungkol sa Payatas.

Sa kanyang vlog post sa YouTube noong Huwebes, October 10, ibinahagi ni Regine ang kanyang luxury bag collection. Kasama niya sa vlog ang anak niyang si Nate.

Kabilang sa kanyang mga ibinahagi ay ang isang vintage Fendi leather bag.

Inihalintulad ni Regine ang di kaaya-ayang amoy ng kanyang leather bag sa Payatas, na dating mayroong garbage dumpsites. Noong August 2017 nang tuluyang ipinasara ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ang Payatas landfill.

Kuwento ni Regine, "This one is funny kasi nakakatawa ang istorya nito. Itong bag kasi na ito, mabaho... I remember, nung binili ko talaga siya, ang baho talaga niya."

Dagdag pa nito, "Ang ganda niya, di ba, 'tapos yung leather niya naka-emboss. It's so beautiful and intricate and ang ganda ganda ganda ganda niya."

Ang mismong bag na ito rin ay ginamit niya noong bumisita siya sa Payatas para sa isang documentary.

Bahagi ni Regine, "Ang kuwento kasi nito, kakabili ko lang... I bought this in Hong Kong, I think.

"During that time, MTV asked me to do a documentary for street children and I went to Payatas, nakakatawa.

"Kasi kapag nasa Payatas ka na, hindi mo na maamoy yung basura, e. Kasi kayo, pare-pareho na kayo ng amoy dun.

"This is the bag I was wearing, so after the whole shooting, akala ko nasa Payatas pa rin ako. Yun pala yung bag ko yung mabaho. Mas mabaho pa siya sa Payatas."

Dahil sa kanyang komento, umani ng batikos si Regine mula sa netizens.

Ngayong Sabado, October 12, sa pamamagitan ng Twitter, humingi ng dispensa si Regine mula sa kanyang mga na-offend sa kanyang naging komento.

Tweet ni Regine, "I would like to sincerely apologize to the people of Payatas for my insensitive comment. It was not intentional and I should be more careful with the things I say. Pasensya na po God bless bless po :)"

Ibinahagi naman ng isang Twitter user ang documentary na nabanggit ni Regine kung saan bumisita ito Payatas kasama ang UNICEF upang tulungan ang mga street children. Taong 2001 noong bumisita dito si Regine para sa nasabing charity project.
