Nag-trend sa Twitter si Lea Salonga kasunod ng anunsiyo ng Walt Disney Studios na si Moira dela Torre ang aawit ng "Reflection" para sa ipalalabas na Mulan live action movie.
Si Lea, 49, ang orihinal na umawit ng "Reflection," ang OST ng Disney animation na Mulan noong 1998, at sa sequel nitong Mulan II noong 2004.
Nauna rito, naging singing voice si Lea ng isa pang Disney character, si Princess Jasmine, para sa animated film na Aladdin noong 1992.
Para sa Aladdin, inawit ng international recording artist-stage actress ang “A Whole New World,” ka-duet si Brad Kane.
Dahil sa pambihirang achievement na ito ni Lea, ginawaran siya ng Walt Disney Company ng Disney Legend recognition noong August 2011.
Si Lea ang kauna-unahang Pinoy na recipient ng Disney Legend award, na tinanggap din ng Hollywood icons na sina Elton John, Tom Hanks, at Barbara Walters.
Bago pa nakilala bilang boses ng dalawang Disney princesses, sa edad na 18 ay nakamit ni Lea ang tagumpay bilang kauna-unahang Miss Saigon actress sa West End at Broadway.
Nagwagi ito sa Tony Awards ng Broadway.
MOIRA, “A WARRIOR IN HER OWN RIGHT”
Ngayong Miyerkules, March 11, inanunsiyo ng Walt Disney Studios sa Facebook page nito na si Moira, 26, ang napiling umawit ng bersiyon niya ng “Reflection.”
Si Moira ay singer-songwriter na nakilala sa pagsali niya sa The Voice Philippines noong 2013.
Tinawag ng Walt Disney na “a warrior in her own right and a true voice of her generation,” aawitin ni Moira ang “Reflection” para sa local release sa Pilipinas ng pinakaaabangang live action movie.
Sa March 25 ipalalabas sa mga sinehan ang Mulan, na pagbibidahan ng Chinese-American actress-singer-model na si Liu Yifei.

“REFLECTION” IS MEANINGFUL, RELATABLE FOR MOIRA
Sa Instagram post ni Moira ngayong Miyerkules, halatang overwhelmed siya sa pagkakapili sa kanya ng Walt Disney para awitin ang theme song ng Mulan.
Para sa pambihirang “full circle moment,” ibinunyag ni Moira na “Reflection” ang unang kinanta niya sa harap ng maraming tao noong bata pa siya.
“And now, almost 18 years later, I get to sing it in front of the world,” saad sa post ni Moira.
Dagdag ng singer, “meaningful” sa kanya bilang isang artist ang mensahe ng “Reflection,” kaya raw relate na relate siya sa kantang ito.
Patuloy ng post ni Moira: “I can't even begin to describe how honored I feel to have been chosen to sing my own rendition of ‘Reflection’, not just because it’s one of the most beloved Disney songs, but because of how meaningful it has been in my life as an artist.
“The song talks about doubting yourself, about the weak knees that come when you don't feel capable of doing something great– something I find very relatable for a lot of us.”
Sa isang bahagi ng post ng singer, indirectly niyang binanggit na napakalaking hamon sa kanya ang pag-awit sa iconic Disney theme song, dahil isang Pinoy music legend—si Lea—ang nagpasikat nito.
“Throughout this once-in-a-lifetime experience of lending my voice to ‘Reflection’, I have faced self-doubt and [so much] fear, thinking I wouldn’t be able to measure up.
“The thought of having to fill such big shoes was very scary to me until I realized that I was chosen so I could pave my own path.

LEA’S FANS PROTEST VIA TWITTER
Maraming fans ni Moira ang natuwa sa napakalaking break na ito sa kanyang career.
Pero maraming netizens din ang kumuwestiyon kung bakit si Moira ang aawit ng “Reflections” gayung hindi pa naman retirado si Lea.
Dinepensahan naman si Moira ng ilang Twitter users, na nagsabing dapat na bigyan din ng chance ang singer.
Samantala, sa tweet ng ABS-CBN News reporter na si MJ Felipe ngayong gabi, quoted niya ang "message of support" ni Lea kay Moira.
