Hilarious memes on checkpoints are going around in the time of the bad virus.
With checkpoints rising in Metro Manila's borders and uniformed law enforcers pointing thermal scanners at people's heads and demanding IDs as proof of employment in the city, netizens are producing memes taking off from popular Korean telenovelas.
The favorites are Crash Landing on You (CLOY) and Descendants of the Sun (DOTS), both from South Korea and both featuring characters in the military.
Crash Landing on You is about a South Korean fashion CEO, Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-Jin), who lands in North Korea after a paragliding accident. She crosses paths with an army officer, Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin), who helps her sneak her back to South Korea. The two end up being cross-border lovers.
On her Facebook page, Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal posts a photo of Hyun Bin wearing a military uniform accompanied by the caption: "I’ve got a bad case of the ‘CLOYrona’ Virus"

Descendants of the Sun (DOTS) tells the love story of the leader of an elite special forces team (played by Song Joong Ki) and an army doctor (played by Song Hye-kyo).
