Mariel de Leon cries foul over allegation dad Christopher violated DOH protocol for COVID-19 testing

Mariel de Leon defends father Christopher de Leon against accusation that the veteran actor broke DOH protocol on COVID-19 testing. Christopher confirmed last March 17 that he tested positive for the virus.

Ipinagtanggol ni Mariel de leon ang amang si Christopher de Leon sa akusasyong nilabag ng veteran actor ang protocol para sa COVID-19 testing.

Kinumpirma ni Christopher, 63, na nagpositibo siya sa COVID-19 noong Martes, March 17.

Isang netizen ang nag-tweet ng mga pangalan ng mga kilalang personalidad na lumabag diumano sa DOH protocol ng kung sinu-sino ang dapat unahin sa COVID-testing.

Karamihan sa mga pinangalanan ay government officials. Kabilang dito ang mga senador, Cabinet members, at maging si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at ang kanyang pamilya.

Sa dulo ng listahan ay binanggit ng netizen ang pangalan ni Christopher.

MARIEL DEFENDS HER DAD

Ngayong umaga ng Lunes, March 23, sunud-sunod ang tweets ni Mariel para depensahan ang ama.

Paglilinaw ng 25-year-old beauty queen-actress, hindi agad-agad nagpa-test ang kanyang ama.

Nagdesisyon lamang daw magpatingin ang veteran actor nang lumala na ang mga sintomas nito.

Saad ni Mariel: “My dad works a lot (events, tapings, shooting) so he’s always exposed to many people.

“Before he got tested, he was sick and decided to quarantine himself in the house.

“After it persisted, he decided to go to the doctors to take the test."

Dagdag niya: “Like everyone else there, he had to wait hours in line because they ran out of tests that morning/afternoon so they had to wait longer.”

Mas inalala raw ni Christopher ang misis niyang si Sandy Andolong.

Sabi ni Mariel: “He was more worried for my mom because she is a kidney transplant patient (among other health issues)."

Nagkaroon ng kidney transplant si Sandy noong 2015.

“She’s not healthy and she is definitely immunocompromised,” sabi pa ni Mariel tungkol sa ina.

“Also, they live with other elders including my lola.”

Hiling ni Mariel sa netizen: “So idk [I don’t know] maybe don’t assume things without confirming first?”

Pahabol ni Mariel, hindi siya updated sa mga balitang lumalabas tungkol sa kanyang pamilya.

“I never read news or anything about my family because (most of the time) they don’t even contact us to confirm details. So idk what they’re saying.”

Nitong weekend, naiulat dito sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang impormasyong ipinost ng ABS-CBN reporter na si Chiara Zambrano.

Tungkol ito sa problema ng frontliners, gaya ng mga doktor, na nagsasabing ginugulo sila ng ilang pulitikong gustong gawin silang prayoridad sa COVID-19 testing.

Gusto rin daw ng mga tinutukoy na government officials na sadyain sila sa kani-kanilang mga tahanan para ma-test.

Kinondena ito ng ilang personalidad kagaya nina Jodi Sta. Maria, Karen Davila, Gretchen Ho, at ng film director at award-winning author na si Jerry B. Gracio.

Noong March 16, naglabas ang DOH ng Algorithm at Triage Chart, taglay ang listahan kung paano at sino ang mga sasailalim sa COVID-19 testing.

Ang prayoridad na makapag-avail ng COVID-19 test kits ay ang senior citizens at mga pasyenteng may marami at malubhang sintomas.

Itinuturing pa ring suliranin sa kasalukuyan ang hindi pagkakaroon ng sapat na COVID-19 test kits.
