GMA News and Public Affairs issues statement to deny veteran journalist Jessica Soho is the woman behind viral voice clip encouraging citizens to stock up because of possible declaration of martial law and total lockdown.

Mariing pinabulaanan ng GMA News and Public Affairs na boses ng award-winning news anchor at journalist na si Jessica Soho ang viral ngayong 40-seconder voice clip.

Kumalat ang audio recording sa social media at ilang chat groups kagabi, April 19.

Sa nasabing voice clip, maririnig ang isang babae na nanghihikayat sa mga tao na mag-stock ng kanilang supply ng pagkain.

Ito ay dahil idedeklara umano ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang “martial law” o "total lockdown."

Maririnig sa audio recording: “Everybody, please listen.

“Just in case lang, if you have time tomorrow, a, to go out, mag-stock kayo ng food, okay, that will last for a few, for a week, or that will last until the 30th.

“Wala namang masama kung mag-i-stock kayo ng food.

“In case na mag-announce si Duterte ng martial law, ng total lockdown, or martial law, kung hindi Monday, Tuesday.

“'Pag mag-announce na siya, it will last hanggang atrenta.

“Meaning, as in totally, hindi na talaga tayo puwedeng lumabas, wala na talagang puwedeng makalabas.”

IT’S NOT JESSICA SOHO

Kaagad nagbigay ng pahayag ang GMA News ukol sa nag-viral na voice clip na tuwirang in-attribute sa Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho host.

Itinanggi nilang si Jessica ang babae sa audio clip.

Pahayag ng news organization: “Isang audio clip na mula umano kay Jessica Soho ang kumakalat ngayon sa mga chat group at social media.

"Sa naturang voice clip, isang babae ang nagbabala tungkol sa mga magiging kaganapan sa COVID-19 quarantine.

“Nililinaw ng GMA News and Public Affairs na hindi si Ms. Jessica Soho ang babae na nasa audio clip.”

Nanawagan din sila sa publiko na huwag nang ipakalat at i-share ang nasabing audio clip dahil peke ito.

“Hindi rin gumagawa ng ganoong pahayag si Ms. Soho.

“Nanawagan po kami sa publiko na huwag nang i-share ang voice clip, na maaaring magdala ng kalituhan sa mga tao.

NO TO FAKE NEWS PEDDLING

Mahigpit ang pamahalaan ngayon sa mga nagpapakalat ng fake news.

Sa pinirmahang bagong batas ni Pangulong Duterte, ang Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (Republic Act 11468), may probisyon dito sa Section 6F ang mahigpit na parusa laban sa mga magpapakalat ng pekeng balita.
