Yam Concepcion knows that playing a kontrabida entails getting hate messages from time to time.
In the ABS-CBN afternoon series Love Thy Woman, Yam plays Dana, the scheming half-sister of Jia, who is played by Kim Chiu.
The half-sisters come into conflict when Jia has an affair with Dana’s husband, David (Xian Lim).
The series recently resumed airing after an almost three-month break because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the recent episodes, Jia and Dana’s fight continues as Jia believes that her missing son is Michael, Dana's adopted son.
Dana then finds out that the father of Jia's missing son is David, her estranged husband.
Dana is enraged upon learning the truth, and tells Jia, "Madumi kang babae!"

On June 23, Yam reposted a hate message from a netizen who watched an episode of Love Thy Woman.
The netizen sent it to Yam at 5:56 a.m. on her Instagram account.
It read (published as is): “ANG YABANG MO. KAILANGAN MO BA TALAGA PAGSALITAAN SI JIA NG GANUN?”
Yam seemed to laugh it off, as she reposted the message on her Instagram Stories together with laughing emojis.
She wrote in the caption, “Come on people, it’s just a teleserye. [three laughing emojis]”
This was not the first time that Yam received hate messages. In fact, she had it worse when she was doing the 2018 prime-time series, Halik, where she played the mistress Jade.
She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview in October 2018, "Hay naku talaga, may mga nagse-send sa akin na—hindi naman siguro death threats, di ko alam kung ganon kalala.
"Pero ang dami nagme-message sa akin na 'Hoy, malandi ka, p*kp*k ka!' o 'Alam mo, makita kita lang kita sa daan, baka masabunutan kita!'”
LOVE THY WOMAN RESUMES TAPING
At present, the cast of Love Thy Woman are locked-in together as they resumed taping last Sunday, June 28.
Yam took to her Instagram Stories and posted a video of her look for Love Thy Woman’s first taping day after the enhanced community quarantine.
She also posted a photo with co-stars Ruffa Gutierrez and Eula Valdes.
Love Thy Woman, which also stars Christopher de Leon and Sunshine Cruz, airs on the Kapamilya Gold block of Kapamilya Channel, and is also available for streaming on iWant.
Love Thy Woman currently ranks number one among the most-viewed shows on the ABS-CBN streaming platform.
