GMA-7 is all set to launch Hallypop.
The new digital TV channel will be carried by the Kapuso network's Affordabox.
Hallypop is an Asian Pop channel that already airs in the United States. It is said to be the “one-stop-shop” for Asian variety and entertainment programs, including popular Korean programs for K-Pop and K-Culture lovers.
Among the Korean programs that Hallypop will carry are the variety show Running Man and the music countdown show Music Bank.
Running Man, which airs on SBS in Korea, is a variety show featuring popular Korean personalities engaging in entertaining games and undergoing a series of missions.
For its pilot episode in GMA-7's Hallypop on September 20, Running Man will air the guest appearance of popular Korean boy band BTS.

GMA-7 has also inked a co-production deal with SBS Korea for the Philippine franchise of Running Man.
Music Bank is dubbed as one of the most sensational music shows in Korea, and features performances by top Korean musicians.
Hallypop will also air K-Chart, a program that lists down a summary of each week’s hottest K-Pop songs.
Hallystage will showcase highly-requested concerts in the Philippines and across Asia.
GMA-7 AND JUNGO TV PARTNERSHIP
GMA-7 sealed a partnership with international content distributor Jungo TV to distribute Hallypop and its programs in the Philippines.
Jungo TV, founded in 2016, is a Los Angeles-based streaming media company that airs television and video-on-demand content.
Apart from Hallypop, the company owns at least 20 digital channels in the world, particularly in North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia.
Jungo TV CEO and co-founder George Chung expressed his excitement about Hallypop coming to the Philippines.
He said, “Hallypop represents a new and exciting direction in the reimagined world of Asian entertainment.
“We are excited to expand on Hallypop’s success in the United States and honored to be partnered with GMA, led by the vision and leadership of Mr. Gozon, that allows us to bring top-tier Korean and Asian pop culture entertainment to the best and most loyal fans in the world.”
GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon is proud to say that GMA-7 is the first network to distribute Jungo TV’s content.
“We are grateful to Jungo TV and Mr. Chung for entrusting us with their channel and content to be the first here in the Philippines to distribute their content.”
Hallypop will also allow GMA-7 to fulfill its aim of widening the network’s content library, according to First Vice President for Program Management Jose Mari R. Abacan.
He elaborated, “We have the heart of fans and that's going to be seen in the way we program Hallypop. A lot of people are looking forward to that Hallyu (Korean Wave) content.
“Having another channel that could actually focus on having certain materials like variety shows, K-pop, and reality shows, it can complement what we have started for the Heart of Asia. So I'm excited about it because we have a lot of things to learn from these Asian contents.”
Heart of Asia, a 24/7 channel that airs local and Asian series, is the first digital channel of GMA-7 that can be seen in its digital television box called the GMA Affordabox.
Hallypop will start its broadcast on September 20.
