Trending ngayong Biyernes ng gabi, November 13, si Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo.

Kasalukuyang nasa Iloilo City si Rabiya, 23, para sa kanyang homecoming.

Buong araw naglibot si Rabiya sa kanilang siyudad para makadaupang-palad ang kanyang mga kababayang Ilonggo.

Pagkagaling sa airport, diretso si Rabiya sa city hall para sa courtesy call kay Mayor Jerry Treñas.

Sunod na rito ang parada niya sa siyudad.

Tirik ang araw nang nagsimula ang motorcade ni Rabiya, pero ayaw raw nitong magpa-payong dahil gusto niyang makita lahat ng mga kababayang sumalubong sa kanya.

Bumuhos ang papuri at suporta ng mga Ilonggo kay Rabiya sa Twitter.

Kinahapunan, nag-courtesy call din si Rabiya kay Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.

Nagdaos din ng isang meet and greet para kay Rabiya sa isang mall.

Sinundan ito ng Christmas decor lighting.

Kinagabihan, naghanda naman ng isang engrandeng homecoming dinner ang siyudad para sa kanilang reyna.

Sa welcome dinner, dumayaw si Rabiya kasama ang local dancers sa saliw ng kantang "Magandang Dilag."

Ginawaran din siya ng special recognition award ng Iloilo City para sa kanyang tagumpay sa Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

“TO BRING HOME THE FIFTH CROWN”

Madamdamin naman ang short impromptu speech ng Ilongga beauty queen.

Sabi ni Rabiya, “I started as a nobody in the pageant world, but I really have the heart and I really wanna win for Iloilo.

“I remember I said ‘Make Iloilo proud’ on the first screening of Miss Universe Philippines, and to some I might dream an impossible dream.

“And there were a lot of comments saying that I will never be Miss Universe Philippines. But I choose to surround myself with people who wanted me to win.

“And I would always remind myself the glory and the honor that I will bring back to Iloilo City once I have the crown on top of my head. And Iloilo City, we finally made it.

“And I offer this success to each and every one of you.”

Nangako rin si Rabiya sa harap ng kanyang mga kababayan na sisikapin niyang maiuwi ang ikalimang korona ng Miss Universe title at crown sa Pilipinas.

Pagtatapos pa niya, “And now, I will promise that I will do my very best to bring home the fifth crown for the Philippines but most especially for my Iloilo City.”

May apat nang Miss Universe titleholders ang bansa: Gloria Diaz noong 1969, Margie Moran noong 1973, Pia Wurtzbach noong 2015, at Catriona Gray noong 2018.
