Naganap ang engagement nina Yam at Miguel sa Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan noon pang December 31, 2018.
Sa post ni Miguel tungkol sa engagement nila kahapon, June 23, nagkomento rito ang "better half" niyang si Yam.
Bahagi ng post ni Miguel, “Now that my better half @yamconcepcion has made the call, time for me to join in the long-delayed celebration [red heart emoji] I’ll start with just how hard it was to keep this a secret for so long - I’ve wanted few things more than to be able to yell this as loud as I can using every means I have!”

Ang “migaru” ay salitang Hapon na ang ibig sabihin ay “light.”
Binati naman ang dalawa ng kamag-anak ni Miguel na si Enrique CuUnjieng, “Congrats, you two!!! Can’t wait for the rest of your lives hahaha”
Sagot ni Yam, "thanks Enrique! Let’s just hope we don’t get sick of each other lol”
Ayon naman kay Miguel, “I can’t wait for our many more family fishing adventures and adding more to the dream scene when we live on the same lake loaded with fish and get into moguns everyday together pikus - let’s do that soon please!”
