Not even heavy floods could stop John Prats from reporting for work as director of It's Showtime.
John has just started his duties as full-time director of the noontime variety show last Monday, July 19, 2021.
And of all days, on Saturday, July 24, when the Kamilya show was to launch a new segment called "Madlang Pi-Poll," John almost didn't make it to the studio.
His village, like many places in Metro Manila, was submerged in water as Typhoon Fabian raged on.
John shared on Instagram how he had to ride a dump truck to navigate the flooded streets.
John wrote in his caption, "Hello madlang pipol!!! Eto po ang transpo ko papuntang ABS-CBN. Napaka importante kasi ng araw na to. Dahil mamaya na ang MADLANG PI-POLL !!! Para sa inyo gagawin namin ang lahat! In the service of the filipino people! Forever kapamilya:) Kitakits mamaya sa @itsshowtimena !!!
"P.S. Salamat sa dad ko, pinahiram nya ako ng dump truck."
It's Showtime hosts Kim Chiu, Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, and Jugs Jugueta posted clapping and smiling emojis.
John also posted snapshots from behind the scenes of It's Showtime, including a photo of him giving instructions to the staff and a photo with the show's cameramen.
On Monday, July 19, during his first episode as director, John also received praises for the new look of the It's Showtime stage, including additional LED lights.
John joined It's Showtime in May 2021 as a director of the segment "Reina ng Tahanan."
