ABS-CBN has released a sneak peek of The Broken Marriage Vow.
The upcoming series is the Kapamilya network's adaptation of the hit British drama Doctor Foster.
For the Filipino version, Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo, Sue Ramirez, and Zaijian Jaranilla are set to play the lead characters.
The video was uploaded on ABS-CBN Entertainment's YouTube channel on July 26, 2021.
It showed a few behind-the-scene clips from the first cycle of the series' lock-in taping in Baguio City, and gave glimpses of the main characters.
What caught the netizens' attention was Jodi's new hairstyle for her character as Dr. Jill Ilustre.
She is now sporting shorter hair with full bangs!
@JodiSolid, a Twitter fan account supporting Jodi, posted a screenshot of Jodi's new look for the teleserye.
Also in the photo was Rachel Alejandro.
The Broken Marriage Vow is a highly anticipated project of ABS-CBN, and serves as Jodi's prime-time TV comeback.
However, some netizens couldn't help but tweet funny and witty reactions to her hair.
One commented that vlogger-comedian Mimiyuuuh can pass off as Jodi's acting double because they have the same hairdo.
Another netizen noted the similarity of her hairstyle with that of The Broken Marriage Vow director Connie Macatuno.
One compared Jodi's hairstyle to Kim Bok Joo, the lead character of the K-Drama series Weightlifting Fairy.
A parody account of Love Thy Woman character Lucy Wong, played by Eula Valdes, compared her fate to Jill Ilustre because of their hairstyles.
In Love Thy Woman, Lucy's husband Adam (Christopher de Leon) had an affair with Kai (Sunshine Cruz). At that time, Lucy was also sporting short hair with bangs.
The netizen quipped, "So ito magiging dahilan kung bakit mangangaliwa si Zanjoe dahil sa buhok ni Jodie. Kasi ako nung ganito din buhok ko dun nadin nangaliwa si Adam."
Of course a number of netizens liked Jodi's hair, saying that it is a fresh take on the usual hairstyles of lead characters in teleseryes.
One netizen said the hairstyle could be an intentional effort to differentiate Jodi's look from her most recent role as Marissa in the series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin (2020).
Despite comments about Jodi's look, a netizen chose to focus on the excitement over the Pinoy adaptation, and noted that it is too early to judge the series through the screenshots.
ABS-CBN is yet to announce the airing date of The Broken Marriage Vow.
