Elmo Magalona is set to take on his first daring role in an episode of iWant TFC’s original anthology, Click, Like, Share, which is now on its third season.
Elmo, who was not seen for more than a year in an acting project, will top-bill the episode “Unseen” with Jane Oineza.
Based on the trailer, Elmo had a scene where he went topless, with Jane’s character asking him, “Hubad!”
During the media conference of Click, Like, Share Season 3 on January 6, 2022, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Elmo and Jane about their scenes in the episode.
Jane said, “Alam mo, sasabihin ko lang sa ‘yo na pinaghandaan talaga ‘to ni Elmo!
“Noong nag-script reading kami nito, sabi namin, ‘Oh my gosh, may ganito siyang scene!' Nag-prepare siya nang bonggang bongga.”
It is because it was Elmo who did more of the daring scenes.
Jane added, “Mas more on si Elmo iyong nag-quota dito, mas toka ni Elmo iyong mature. Wala masyado for my side.”
Elmo seconded, “Totoo, totoo. Kahit sa set namin, ayoko talagang masira ko iyong mood ng eksena kaya I need to be prepared for it.”
Although they did not give details about the scene being talked about, Elmo revealed that he was surprised upon reading the script.
He said, “Honestly, noong nakuha ko iyong script, hindi ko alam na may ganun palang scene! So, hindi naman siya like grand preparation.”
Aside from that, Elmo did not have the luxury of time and only had “a few days” to prepare physically.
Elmo recalled, “Siguro alam mo iyong kapag meron kang exam tomorrow, magka-cram ka lang, ganun iyong naging pakiramdam ko habang nagpe-prepare sa Click, Like, Share.
“Pero I was patient, hindi ako kumakain and everything para lang mapaganda iyong scene namin ni Jane.”
Elmo promised that the daring scene, which they did not detail anymore, was done with taste.
Elmo stressed, “But it was done with class kasi si Direk Andoy [Ranay] iyong gumawa.”
Also, the daring scene did not make both Elmo and Jane uncomfortable since they have already worked with each other in the 2017 movie Bloody Crayons.
Jane quipped, “Nagpaalam naman ako kay Elmo. 'Okay lang ba, Elmo?' Hindi, joke lang!”
Elmo, laughing, said, “Si Jane pa iyong nagpaalam, e, ano!”
He then added, “Hindi, wala talagang awkwardness kasi buti na lang, nagka-work na kami before. And kahit na first time namin mag-pair up, at least comfortable na kami and at ease na kami with one another.”
HOW ELMO WAS CONVINCED
Click, Like, Share is not the first time that Elmo went topless for a project, but those past scenes were only for “kiligan” scenes and not necessarily with the character or role.
This means that his role as Jerome in the “Unseen” episode is his most daring role so far.
How was he convinced to do the show?
Elmo related, “Well, before naman they went up to me for this project, sinabi naman nila na iyong magiging episode namin for Click, Like, Share will be the most mature out of all the episodes.
“Kaya we really wanted to have that different type of depth, I guess, or some scenes na hindi mapapakita sa ibang episodes.
“Kaya we prepared for it, we executed it, and sana maganda iyong pagkaka-accept ng mga manonood.”
Does this also mean that Elmo would do more mature projects in the future?
Elmo answered, “As long as it’s challenging, I’ll take it on, pero ayoko rin naman maging… like, I want to try out different things, take on new challenges nga.
“I don’t want to be typecast na mature roles lang all the time. Ngayong na-try ko siya, I can say na it was fun and it was a challenge. Maybe I’ll take on more challenging roles in the future.”
The third season of Click, Like, Share will start streaming on January 12. The other episodes are "Swap" starring Belle Mariano and Shanaia Gomez, "QR Code" headlined by Vivoree, and "Repair" top-billed by JC Alcantara.
