Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos said Monday, January 24, 2022, he believes "anti-Marcos" positions equate to "bias," adding he would rather discuss pressing issues than his father's past.
The only son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was explaining why he skipped a weekend interview with GMA News anchor Jessica Soho, whom he accused of being "biased."
Asked on One News television what is biased, the survey frontrunner said: "Anti-Marcos."
Puntahan natin itong mga mahahalagang problema natin ngayon," he said.
"What questions do you need to asked that have not been asked...Why are we doing this?"
GMA Network earlier defended Soho from the accusations of bias from the Marcos camp, saying the veteran journalist will ask the tough questions "because the job of the presidency is tough."
Marcos Jr. also denied he was a coward after hashtag #MarcosDuwag trended on Twitter following his non-appearance for the GMA interview.
Marcos Jr. is seeking the presidency alongside President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter Sara, who is seeking the vice presidency.
