Independent musicians have come together to help raise funds for Boy Lampa, who suffered a stroke on January 2, 2022.
Dubbed as A Father's Love, the livestreaming concert is happening this Sunday, January 30, 2022, at 6 p.m., via a private Facebook group.
Lampa has been confined at a private hospital since then because of his critical health condition.
Amid his confinement, he was also diagnosed with COVID-19.
He has comorbidities including tuberculosis, diabetes, hypertension, cataract, and kidney.
The mounting bills of Lampa's hospitalization prompted his children to put together an online fundraising concert dubbed as A Father's Love.
Part of the Lampa family's official statement posted on Facebook dated January 20, 2022:
"Despite the probability of low survival, our family continues to trust the Lord Almighty's divine intervention for a miracle in Tatay Boy's health through the intensive care of the doctors and nurses in a private hospital.
"Our dear generous, loving and joyful Tatay Boy deserves all the love, care, effort and funds being someone who has been very generous to his family, friends and strangers — despite being financially challenged as a retired navy.
"And just as how Tatay Boy has been to those in need, our family will never give up in this battle despite the challenges we face financially. We shall continue to trust God and raise funds for our dear Tatay Boy.
"With your help, even a piso can go a long way, we will all endure and surpass this ordeal because in every problem, there is a solution; in every weakness, there is strength; in every challenge, there is growth; and in hard times, people with gentle hearts rise.
"On January 30, Sunday, we pray that you join us as we sing for Tatay Boy who is fond of music.
"Send us a chat message in our page: A Father's Love and help us raise funds for the hospital bill that is at P1.5M as of 17Jan."
