ABS-CBN actress Andrea Brillantes is again going viral, this time for a scene in a music video showing her tasting the “frying oil” while cooking hotdogs.
The music video is for the ditty “Tahanan” sung by OPM artist Adie, which premiered on April 20, 2022.
The Facebook page Meme in Black has picked up the clip from the music video and reposted it with the caption: “Hotdog ang niluluto pero mantika ang tinikman. Good luck sayo Ricci!”
Ricci is basketball player-turned-actor Ricci Rivero, the boyfriend of Andrea.
At press time, the video has garnered 58K reacts, mostly “haha.”
In the comments section, Andrea has poked fun at her own video clip, quipping, “sinabawang hotdog supremacy.”

To answer a netizen asking why would she taste the oil from the hotdog, Andrea clarifies she was actually cooking the hotdog with water: “tubig yon vebs.”

Kris Cazin, the director of the music video, sheds light on the story behind the viral scene, saying it was actually intentional.
He writes in a his post on YouTube (published as is), “Okay so madami na kayong nakapansin nung pag tikim ng sabaw ng hotdog. It was my intention na gawin yon hahaha. Story time!
"Before taking the scene, originally, tubig lang yung nakalagay para kumulo tapos makita lang na may usok for practical effects and ayoko na paglutuin si blythe for safety reasons tapos nagulat na lang sila nagchop ako ng hotdog tapos nilagay ko sa pan.
"And originally instead of ‘sarap’ ang nasa script is ‘okay naman’ since fan ako ni ninong ry. I just thought it looks dumb so I went for it.”
Blythe is Andrea’s nickname, while Ninong Ry is a known cooking vlogger.
Kris further explains he actually has a deeper reason for shooting a scene that “looks dumb.”
He elaborates, “Don't expect all women, jowa, asawa, etc na marunong magluto (hindi siya gender role) and that's okay! Ipagluluto ka parin niya kahit di siya marunong magluto.
"Slow mo parin ang pagtingin mo sakanya, mahal mo parin siya despite mukha siyang ewan na umiinom ng sabaw ng hotdog & If you think it's funny and stupid, that's the point!
“Happy watching guys!”

On April 21, Adie writes a tweet, seemingly his reaction to the viral clip, “lahat nalang [face palm emoji]”
As of this writing, the music video has 1.2 million views on YouTube.
