Dozens of celebrities gathered to show their support for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate Sen. Kiko Pangilinan at their miting de avance held on Saturday night, May 7, 2022, in Makati City.
After the event, ABS-CBN actress Angel Locsin, who has been a staunch supporter of the Leni-Kiko tandem, took to Instagram to share snippets of her and fellow celebrities during the event.
"Snippets from the Miting de Avance [emoji] maraming salamat sa mga boluntaryong tumindig para sa bayan [emojis]," Angel wrote in the caption of her post.
Among the celebrities spotted in Angel's post on Instagram Reels are her husband Neil Arce, Jane de Leon, Iza Calzado, Regine Velasquez, Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Robi Domingo, Jon Lapus, Shaina Magdayao, Jaime Fabregas, and Ryza Cenon.
Other celebrities who were featured in Angel's post are PJ Endrinal, Jake Cuenca, Yeng Constantino, Erik Santos, Andrea Brillantes, Patrick Quiroz, Kapuso stars Rochelle Pangilinan and husband Arthur Solinap, and twins Cassy and Mavy Legaspi.
In the comments section of her post, Bianca thanked Angel and her husband for all the support they've shown VP Leni and Sen. Kiko on and off cam.
Bianca wrote, "Our real life ANGEL! Maraming salamat sa lahat ng ginawa ninyo ni @neil_arce para sa laban na to!!!!
"Ang alam lang ng karamihan ay ang nababalita sa TV at social media pero maraming salamat sa lahat ng paghikayat, pakikinig at pakikipag usap off cam!!!!! Thank you Angel."
Meanwhile, Ryza, PJ, and Cassy left pink-colored emojis on Angel's Instagram post.
In a separate post, Angel paid tribute to all the moms including VP Leni as the country celebrates Mother's Day, before the elections on Monday, May 9, 2022.
She also thanked VP Leni's daughters Aika, Jill, and Tricia Robredo for sharing their mom with the rest of the country,
Angel wrote, "Happy Mother’s day sa lahat ng mga mommies at sa ating Ina ng bayan [emoji] Thank you for being a great role model to all of us [emoji]
"Thank you @aikarobredo @jpgrobredo @jillrobredo for sharing your mother with us [emoji] hindi pa ako nakapag-papicture kay Jillian [emoji]."
Towards the end of her post, Angel quipped, "PS: Pakitanggal yung plastic kay Mam De Lima. Na su-suffocate siya [emoji]"
Supporters of the Leni-Kiko tandem painted Ayala Avenue and its neighboring streets pink as the event gathered a mammoth crowd of 1 million by 11 p.m., according to the estimate provided by the event's organizers and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Among the celebrities that showed up at the event that weren't featured on Angel's short Instagram Reels video are Sharon Cuneta, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Gary Valenciano, Gab Valenciano, Ogie Alcasid, Janella Salvador, Kathryn Bernardo, and Daniel Padilla. The OPM artists that performed at the event were Ely Buendia, Moonstar 88, Rivermaya, Nica del Rosario, and Ben&Ben.
