Darren Espanto of The Voice Kids fame has received a Gold Record award for his debut album.
The 13-year-old singer from Canada shared the good news through his social media account.
Over 7,500 copies of his self-titled debut album have already been sold since it was released in December 2014.
Darren features the carrier single "In Love Ako Sa’Yo" composed by Vehnee Saturno. The hitmaker composer is also behind the songs "My Girl," "Ewan Ko" and "Ah! Basta Gusto Kita."
Foreign composers Keith Martin and Deon Hairston collaborated for "You Are The Only One"; Adrian Rezza, Lucas Rezza and Carvin Winans contributed "I Believe In Me"; Fil-Am Brad Go did "Makin’ Moves" while Filipino composer Kennard Faraon is behind the composition "Stuck".
Darren's solo record also contains a studio version of "Domino," the song he performed during the blind auditions of The Voice Kids PH.
In his Instagram account, Darren posted his photo with the following caption:
