Legendary star Sarah Brightman, the world's biggest-selling soprano and Grammy Awards nominee, is making her way back to Manila for a performance.
Sarah, known for playing the original Christine on Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, will have her first-ever Christmas concert at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on December 7, 2022.
It is part of her A Christmas Symphony concert tour presented by Wilbros Live and Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Sarah is known for her her three-octave range and for pioneering the classical-crossover music movement.
She rose to fame with her hit songs “Time to Say Goodbye’ with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, “La Luna,” “Symphony,” “Fly to Paradise,” “Hymn,” and “Follow Me”
She also performed in the 2007 Concert for Diana and the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
MANILA CONCERT TOUR
At the virtual mediacon last Tuesday, September 13, 2022, Sarah expressed her excitement for her return to the country after her Hymn in Concert World Tour in 2020.
Hymn is the title of Sarah’s album released in November 9, 2018.
She said, "I have been to the Philippines, in Manila before, and I was incredibly upset that I didn't have time because I was moving into another country for another concert.
"I didn't have time to really enjoy it, and I think I can do this time, so I want to be back because of the city's history and I really want to see some architecture that I know [have] very Spanish feels.
"I want to enjoy foods more... I just want to just get out there and enjoy the city, because it is huge and I know it's growing all the time, and that is a very important city. So, I [am] always interested in different culture."
Sarah also stressed her love for different Filipino dishes.
She said, "I do remember having some extra ordinary food and some know that I really love food, I'm very [interested] to try again and to try more.
"It's always to great music to come back. Apart from singing for everybody, that's one thing I've definitely go straight more of, is choose really interesting and wonderful dishes from there."
The other countries aside from the Philippines on the itinerary of Sarah's concert tour are Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand.
