GMA-7's afternoon drama series "Apoy Sa Langit" taught actress Lianne Valentin a valuable lesson on love: "Too much love will kill you. Hinay-hinay lang. Magtira ka pa rin para sa sarili mo. Always set boundaries and include your mind when it comes to love. Walang masama magmahal but be careful."

Lianne Valentin has learned a lot from starring in Apoy Sa Langit.

The Kapuso actress played the controversial Stella Fernandez alongside co-stars Zoren Legaspi and Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan.

As her first major project, Apoy Sa Langit also allowed Lianne to work under veteran director Laurice Guillen.

But aside from learning from industry greats, Lianne also learned huge lessons about love and career.

"The biggest lesson I learned is too much love will kill you emotionally and mentally. I believe that love is very powerful," Lianne revealed in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the 3rd anniversary bash of Twenty Four Bakeshop.

The bakeshop celebrated their anniversary with a block screening of Avatar held at The Screening Room, Ortigas Cinemas, Estancia Mall last September 23, 2022.

"Too much love will kill you. Hinay-hinay lang. Magtira ka pa rin para sa sarili mo. Always set boundaries and include your mind when it comes to love.

APOY SA LANGIT

Lianne credits Apoy Sa Langit for fueling her drive in the industry.

While she didn't know how much the show would demand of her, she stepped up to the challenge.

She said, "I know it’s a battle, I know it’s a challenge. Hindi ko alam kung ano yung papasukin ko. Let’s just do this. Let’s see ano yung result."

The experience also helped her have a deeper appreciation for her work, which allows her to bring characters to life on the small screen.

"Acting wise, mas lalo akong naging passionate, mas lalo ko naging love yung craft ko.

"Madaming gustong maging artista, but not everyone is given a chance. So now na nabigyan ako ng chance, I really want to make the most out of it. I want to give my 200 percent to it."

Of her many lines and scenes in Apoy Sa Langit, one stands out for Lianne.

She narrated, "There is this scene yung pinaka last away namin ni Cesar (Zoren Legaspi).

"Our last interaction na may bugbog, ang sabi ko, 'Sige, patayin mo na lang ako, pati yung anak natin kung yun ang magapapasaya sa iyo.'

"It’s just a simple line but with the emotions na pinagdaanan ni Stella, it’s very heartbreaking."

TO MORE ACTING CHALLENGES

Apoy Sa Langit was an intense acting experience for Lianne, but she isn't slowing down anytime soon.

The Kapuso actress continues to keep up with TV appearances and other opportunities, on top of attending workshops helmed by Ana Feleo.

The workshops have exercises that help Lianne let go of Stella, no matter how much she loves her previous character.

Lianne told PEP.ph, "I need to move on and experience other things. But I will never forget Stella. She will forever be in my heart."

As her star continues to rise, Lianne admits to wanting versatility in her career.

She related, "I want to do different kinds of characters. Nag-try na ako ng comedy with Bubble Gang.

"Stella was very heavy drama. I really want to experience a character na medyo thriller-mystery series. Mind games pag pinanood mo.

"I really like Orphan Black. Imagine kung ilan yung characters na same person lang yung gumagawa. It’s very hard with the different kinds of personalities and nuances.

"Gusto ko yun ma-experience."

If given the chance, Lianne would love to work with veteran talents like Jaclyn Jose and Dennis Trillo.

"I love learning from different actors," she said.
