Loyal viewers of the defunct GMA-7 teen-oriented show Click knew her as Belle. She starred alongside Richard Gutierrez, Angel Locsin, Chynna Ortaleza, Jolo Revilla, Karen delos Reyes, the late Miko Sotto, among others. However, Dyan Delfin's showbiz career did not bloom because she had to leave for the States to get her green card.
The 24-year-old returning young actress said she had to leave right away during that time. "Magtu-twenty-one na po kasi ako noon, e. Dapat before my 21st birthday, nandoon na ako [sa U.S.]," Dyan explained during a pocket presscon prepared for her this afternoon, April 1, at the Baang Coffee Shop on Tomas Morato, Quezon City
When Dyan left, rumors spread that the main reason she went to the U.S. was because she was pregnant with rumored boyfriend Marc Nelson. But Dyan strongly denied this report.
"Hindi ako totoong nanganak," Dyan defended. "Kung totoong nabuntis ako, e, hindi sana ako pinaalis kasi yung medical before I left, ano, e, from head to toe. Kumbaga ganun ka-strict yun."
Dyan also made it clear that she and Marc never had a relationship. She clarified, "We dated briefly. I never said or I will never say that he was or he is my boyfriend. Kumbaga, parang we dated."
The young actress could not tell if Marc courted her, but she insisted that they were just exclusively dating. For Dyan, "Mayroon kasi iba-ibang terms, e, so depende na lang kung sino yung mag-interpret, e. Pero after that, we became really, really good friends. Kaya up to now, magkausap kami."
Dyan also said that she understands why people thought she was pregnant. She explained, "Kasi never na-clarify yung status naming dalawa [ni Marc]. On top of that, bigla akong umalis, 'tapos wala man lang akong nabigay na explanation."
MISSING SHOWBIZ. Dyan admitted that she never really wanted to leave then because she already got used to the lifestyle of local celebrities.
In fact, according to her, when she found out that she had to leave, "Hindi ko talaga gustong umalis noong time na yun. Parang ano, umiiyak pa 'ata ako noon. Sobrang emotional kasi nga, kumbaga, iiwanan ko lahat ng friends ko, lahat ng mga trabaho ko. Kumbaga, nasanay na ako 'tapos biglang kailangan kong umalis nang wala akong magagawa so super sad nung umalis ako, nanghinayang din ako."
Dyan's eagerness to pursue her career in showbiz prompted the young actress to leave her two jobs in the U.S.—a sales person and a part-time realtor—and try out showbiz again.
"Na-miss ko yung lifestyle," Dyan replied when asked what she likes about showbiz. "Gusto ko lang yung trabaho, masaya. Kasi even if I like my work in the States, I enjoy and I get good money and everything, pero iba pa rin yung lifestyle dito, yung work dito. Siguro kasi ano, e, nasa loob ko na, ‘Ay, ito ang gusto kong gawin."
She continued by comparing her corporate life abroad and here as a celebrity. For Dyan, it was, "Sobrang iba! Kumbaga, gusto ko yung mga times na nagpapa-manicure ako, nagpapa-foot spa ako and everything. Doon [sa Amerika], mas doble ang trabahong kailangan mong gawin kasi mas mahal doon at saka mas konti yung time na para sa akin."
Although the returning actress does not have a definite project yet, for her comeback, Dyan's image will be changed from a teenybopper to a sexy actress.
Dyan told the media that she prefers to play a sexy role, "na mataray." Then, she added in jest, "Kasi parang ano, e, siguro mas natural na sa akin yun."
When PEP asked her how far would she go for that sexy role, Dyan replied, "Siguro ang kailangan ko pang pag-isipan is yung totally wala akong suot. Kumbaga, kung sa two-piece lang, okay lang ako. Pero yung bare, yun ang pag-iisipan ko pa, hindi ko pa 'ata kaya yun."
Aside from Click, Dyan also played a role in the TV series called Hanggang Kailan. Her last project was Leya but her stint was cut short because she had to fly to the U.S.
