Kinatigan ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang inihaing Petition for Review ni Annabelle Rama para sa cyber libel complaint na isinampa laban sa kanya ng businessman at dating aktor na si Jayke Joson.
Bunsod nito, ipinag-utos ng DOJ sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Las Piñas na bawiin mula sa korte ang mga impormasyon laban sa akusado dahil nabigo ang complainant na mapatunayan at mapagtibay sa preliminary investigation ang lahat ng elemento ng cyber libel.
Nagsimula ang legal battle sa pagitan nina Annabelle at Jayke nang maghain ang huli ng reklamo sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) noong October 26, 2021.
Paninirang-puri ang paratang ni Jake laban kay Annabelle dahil sa mga post ng talent manager sa Instagram tungkol sa kanya at sa pagkakasira ng relasyon nila ni former Senator Manny Pacquiao bilang magkaibigan.

Noong December 7, 2021, nagsampa rin si Annabelle ng libel case laban kay Jake sa Prosecutor’s Office ng Quezon City.
Ito ay nag-ugat sa panayam ni Jayke sa The Philippine STAR, kung saan tinawag niya si Annabelle na "sinungaling" at "swindler." Inakusahan din ng dating aktor ang ina nina Ruffa at Richard Gutierrez na marami umanong demanda sa Manila, Makati, at Quezon City gayong wala itong kasong nakabinbin sa mga naturang lungsod.

Sa tulong ng NBI, saka pa lamang nagsampa si Jayke ng cyber libel complaint laban kay Annabelle sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Las Piñas noong January 24, 2022.
Noong March 21, 2022, binigyan ng timbang ng Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office ang reklamong cyber libel ni Annabelle laban kay Jayke, kasama ang mga kinakailangang impormasyon na nag-uutos na isampa sa korte ang nasabing krimen.
Dinidinig ang kaso sa Branch 90 ng Regional Trial Court ng Quezon City at nakatakdang iharap ng prosekusyon ang huling testigo nito sa darating na Martes, December 6.
Noong June 30, 2022, pinagkalooban ng Prosecutor’s Office ng Las Piñas ng due course ang reklamo ni Jayke kaya isinampa sa korte ang cyber libel case laban kay Annabelle.
Kasunod ito ay naghain naman si Annabelle ng Petition for Review sa Department of Justice.
Nakipag-ugnayan ang Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) sa legal counsel ni Annabelle na si Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque para sa kanilang pahayag tungkol sa desisyon ng DOJ.
Kinumpirma ni Garduque na natanggap nila mula sa DOJ ang resolusyong nag-uutos sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Las Piñas na bawiin ang kaso laban sa akusado na nakasampa sa Branch 253 ng Regional Trial Court ng nasabing siyudad.
Pahayag niya, “Yes, we confirm the receipt of the resolution from DOJ granting our petition for review thereby directing the Office of the City Prosecutor of Las Piñas to withdraw the information for cyber libel that it filed against Tita Annabelle in court.
“Today, we likewise received the order from RTC Branch 253 of Las Piñas granting the motion to withdraw informations filed by the OCP thereby considering the cases against Ms. Annabelle Rama dismissed."
Ikinatuwa ng kampo ni Annabelle ang desisyong ito ng DOJ.
Saad ni Atty. Garduque, “Of course we are very happy about it. Ako personally, I was relieved because before Tita Annabelle really wanted to respond to media regarding this case.
“Kilala naman natin si Tita Annabelle, but I just told her to remain silent and just trust the legal proceedings.
“At least now, she can travel without worrying about that case. Kapag akusado ka kasi kailangan mo magpaalam sa court whenever you will travel outside the country.
“As regards the case in Quezon City, wherein Tita Annabelle is the complainant in her cyber libel case against Mr. Joson, she already testified in that case and we will present our last witness na on the next hearing.
“In the end, Tita Annabelle would like to thank all the people who prayed, supported and believed in her while these cases were being filed against her.
“She was all over the news when this case was filed against her. The dismissal of these cases is a VERY GOOD news for her.”
