Pag-amin niya, “Still in mourning. I spent most of my time with her. And you cannot not miss her because mom was larger than life! But we all have to move on. So I’m recalibrating my life. A bit difficult, but God is my refuge.
“I cherish all the wonderful memories with her, all the learnings from her as a mom, friend, mentor...from knowing your craft and having the discipline and professionalism… to staying strong and resilient in times of complexities and changes...staying humble, being respected and respectful… being compassionate especially to aging parents… love for God, family, friends, self...
“Mom wasn’t perfect like any of us, but I love her for what she was, and I so thank God for lending her to us.
“I’m keeping myself busy, staying positive and constructive.
“I surround myself with friends and build a support team. I hear mass as often as I can because I find accord and strength in doing so.
“Mom has left a legacy to bolster not just the Visayan movies and talents, but the whole regional filmmaking. And I plan to continue it. But I can’t do it alone. I hope to get support not just from the entertainment industry, but also some sort of a subsidy from the government,” ang mahabang pahayag ni Suzette.
Alam mo naman sa Amerika, mabilis ang pacing ng buhay so kailangan you have to keep up with it.
“Baka doon ako mag-celebrate ng Pasko at Bagong Taon. Pero babalik ako agad.”
WILL SUZETTE FILL HER MOM’S SHOES AT MTRCB?
Aniya, “It would be an honor if I do. Mom was passionate with her work sa MTRCB as Board Member. She served 6 or 7 different MTRCB chairpersons.”
