Ilang beses na raw hinimok ang ina ni Wency Cornejo na si Mel Tiangco na sumabak sa pulitika, pero sadyang hindi ito interes ng veteran Kapuso broadcaster.
"My mom has been offered a lot. Talagang lapitin kumbaga or something like that, but she does not want to get involved in politics," sabi ni Wency.
Patuloy niya, "It's very, very magulo, e, she says. Especially at her age, she doesn't want to get stressed out.
"And kahit kami as her children, ayaw din namin ma-stress nanay namin. At her age, she needs to be resting and just enjoying the fruits of her labor.
"So, kahit kami talaga, sasabihan namin siya 'no.'"

May mga second-degree cousins si Wency na nasa pulitika—sina Navotas Mayor John Reynald Tiangco at Navotas District Representative Tobias “Toby” Reynald Tiangco.
Kung mabibigyan siya ng pagkakataon, gusto ba niyang subukan din ang mundo ng pulitika?
Sagot ni Wency: "No, definitely not me. I have no patience—pangit man pakinggan 'to—I don't like dealing with people.
"I know politics, you have to put up a wall or whatever it is.
“It really doesn't run in our blood, yung side namin ng Tiangco."
Hindi raw kakayanin ni Wency magpaka-diplomatiko.
Paliwanag pa ni Wency, "And I'm not that type of person, I'm very straight [forward]. When I feel this way, I will tell you I feel this way.
"And di puwede yun sa politics, e, you have to be more—pangit ulit pakinggan pero— two-faced. Ganyan yung paniniwala ko, ah."
