MOMOLAND is no more!
K-pop girl group MOMOLAND, known for their hit songs “Bboom Bboom” and “Baam,” has officially disbanded after seven years as a group.
The South Korean group composed of six members — Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, and Nancy — announced that they’re going their separate ways through handwritten letters written both in Korean and English on their respective Instagram accounts.
The letter reads (published as is), "First of all, we sincerely apologize to our Merries [MOMOLAND’s fans] facing the news through an article. We are truly sorry for the late update.
"After a long, deep discussion, the six of us members have decided to support for each other to have a great new beginning going forward.
"Even though we have decided to take our own paths towards our dreams, Us MOMOLAND will always be a team."
The group also apologized and expressed their gratitude to their fanbase, Merries, for “providing [them] with precious memories.”
They said, "We sincerely thank our beloved Merries for providing us with precious memories and being by our side for the last seven years. Our Merries have been everything to us and always will be.
"We are deeply sorry that we couldn't let you guys know sooner, but sincerely thank each and everyone that have patiently waited for us.
"Moving forward, please continue to support and love MOMOLAND and each and every member's path."
MOMOLAND’s disbandment came weeks after the group’s agency, MLD Entertainment, revealed that the members agreed not to renew their contracts.
MOMOLAND had been under MLD Entertainment since the group made its debut in November 2016 through the reality talent search Finding MOMOLAND.
In 2017, the group expanded to nine members with the addition of Daisy and Taeha.
In 2019, Taeha and Yeonwoo left the group to pursue solo projects, followed by Daisy’s departure in 2020.
