Sa Instagram nitong nakaraang Araw ng mga Puso, February 14, 2023, ipinaramdam pa rin ni Raphael ang pagmamahal sa ina anim na buwan matapos nitong pumanaw.
Binati ni Rafael ang ina na itinuturing niyang “forever Valentine.”
Mensahe niya sa kanyang post: “My rose, my light, my love, my Cherie Amor. My forever Valentine [heart emoji]”

Pagmamahal din ang ipinaabot ng mga malapit na kamag-anak ni Cherie, pati na ng isa pa niyang anak na si Bianca Rogoff.
Binawian ng buhay si Cherie noong August 5, 2022 sa New York dahil sa endometrial cancer.

Noong August 20, 2022—labinlimang araw matapos pumanaw si Cherie—nagbahagi rin si Raphael ng paghanga sa ina, na kahit sinasaluduhan daw ang galing sa mundo ng showbiz ay tumatayong simpleng ina pa rin sa kanila ng kapatid na si Bianca.
Mensahe ni Raphael, “You were a gift to this world. You touched every life that you came across, whether through the silver screen, on stage, or in person.
“To your most prized fans, you were Cherie Gil, La Primera Contravida. To some, Evangeline Rose; or perhaps Cheech. To me, simply, Momma—my homie. What a luxury.
“You were a light that filled every room with pure warmth and bliss.
“Your laugh, wit, and humor, resonated deeply with all who had the pleasure of basking in it.”
Dagdag pa ni Raphael, ipinaramdam sa kanya ng ina ang pagmamahal na walang pagmamaliw at kung paano mamuhay sa mundo na nagpapakatotoo.
“You taught me to love unconditionally and bathe in the beauty of emotions; to appreciate every moment, big or small, happy or sad.
“You showed me how to live freely; with no care in the world. Always wearing your heart on your sleeve and unapologetically being yourself. Always.

Kapag naiisip daw niya ang kanilang tahanan, ang ina ang laging sumasagi sa kanyang isipan.
Kahit wala na si Cherie, nangako si Raphael na magpapatuloy siya sa kanyang buhay gaya ng kanilang pangako sa isa’t isa.
