Tinawag ni Rocco Nacino ang pansin ng Manila Ocean Park matapos muntikan nang mabiktima ang kanilang sasakyan at driver sa parking lot nito ng basag-kotse gang.
Sa Facebook nitong Lunes, July 3, 2023, ibinahagi ni Rocco ang naranasan ng kanilang driver habang naka-park sa nasabing establisimyento.
Pahayag ng Kapuso actor, “Hello Manila Ocean Park, I am making this post for the safety of your customers and for the welfare and security of Manila Ocean Park.
“Yesterday, July 2, we visited Ocean park with my family. We were 2 cars and since it was a hectic day, we brought a driver with us.
“As he brought us to the drop off area where my parents were waiting for us, everything went smoothly and I instructed our driver to head to the parking area of Ocean Park and rest for a while.
“While we were inside, our driver took a nap and turned off the engine of the car. Since hindi sanay matulog sa car, mababaw ang tulog niya.”
Matapos ang ilang minuto, napansin daw ng driver ni Rocco ang dalawang naka-park na sasakyan sa harapan ng kanilang sasakyan.
Base sa salaysay ng driver, may lumabas daw pitong katao—limang lalaki at dalawa babae—mula sa dalawang sasakyan. Pinalibutan daw ng mga ito ang sasakyan ng aktor.
Patuloy ni Rocco, “A little later, two cars parked in front of him, and out came seven individuals, 5 of them male and 2 female.
“They started circling around the car, slowly peeping inside, obviously looking for something.
“Our driver got nervous and started to fake his sleep, but he was slowly watching them. He heard from one of the men, saying, ‘May tao ba? May makukuha ba?’
“Which the woman replied, ‘Meron pala, natutulog.’
“They started to exchange looks kung itutuloy nila o hindi. But then [they] chose to drive away nalang.”
Ayon kay Rocco, kung nagkataong walang tao sa loob ng sasakyan nila ay baka itinuloy nila ang pag-ransack sa kanilang sasakyan.
O kung pumalag ang driver nila sakaling itinuloy nga nila ang pagpasok sa kanilang sasakyan, baka nasaktan nila ito.
Aniya, “If my driver wasn't there, basag ang windows ko niyan, kinuha na lahat ng valuables sa loob lalo na at kitang kita na maraming baby stuff inside.
“If pumalag ang driver ko, most probably may baril ang mga lalaki na de kotse pa."
Paglilinaw naman ng aktor na nag-post siya hindi upang i-bash ang Manila Ocean Park kundi para tawagin ang pansin nito na higpitan ang kanilang seguridad, lalo pa't maraming mga turista ang bumibisita sa naturang lugar.
“Posting this not to bash ocean park. But please, bump up your security. Increase roving around the parks inside and outside the park. Please invest on your security, lalo na maraming tourists na dumadalaw sa park and hotels.”
Ayon pa kay Rocco, nakatakda sana siyang mag-withdraw ng malaking halaga ng pera noong araw na iyon. Mabuti na lang at hindi niya itinuloy.
Lahad niya, “Napakswerte namin nung araw na iyon. I was supposed to withdraw some money and lock in in the compartment. Buti nalang hindi ko tinuloy. Kapag napagtripan kami, at nabuksan yun, goodbye pera.”
Payo niya sa mga taong nagbabalak mamasyal sa Manila Ocean Park: “For the families visiting Manila Ocean Park, PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES INSIDE YOUR CAR. Mabuksan man nila, basta wala sila makuha na valuables.
“Stay safe everyone. Di na biro ang mga nilalang na gumagawa ng masama, kung ano man ang rason nila para gawin iyun. Karma nalang bahala sa kanila. Pero sana marealize nila kapag tinuloy nila mga gawain nila, napaka traumatizing sa mga families ang ginagawa nila.
“To everyone reading this, please share to friends na may balak pumunta ng ocean park.”
Panawagan naman niya sa Manila Ocean Park, “Ang laki laki ng kinikita niyo Ocean Park, invest naman kayo in safe parking spaces and number of security guards.
“Stay safe everyone.”
MANILA OCEAN PARK COMMENTS ON ROCCO’S POST
Tumugon naman kaagad ang Manila Ocean Park sa post na ito ni Rocco.
Nagpasalamat ang pamunuan nito sa kanyang feedback at ginagarantiya nila ang seguridad ng bawat taong mamamasyal sa kanilang lugar.
Iimbestigahan din daw nila ang mga ganitong reklamo para mapatibay pa ang kanilang security measures.
Buong komento ng Manila Ocean Park: "Greetings from the Bay! Mr. Nacino. We thank you for your invaluable feedback. We assure you that the safety and security of all patrons, guests and employees of the Manila Ocean Park (MOP) are top priority.
“MOP implements security measures and protocols within the park, including its parking facilities to guard against criminals and unscrupulous individuals.
“We appreciate the public’s vigilance and cooperation in thwarting these elements.
“Rest assured that MOP is currently evaluating the reported incident and will look into ways to further improve the security measures in place. Again, thank you and hope to SEA you back at MOP!"
Sagot ni Rocco, “Manila Ocean Park Thank you for the prompt response!! Apparently, with the recent incident, safety and security were not prioritized at all. No CCTV.
“Only one person(according to the comments) in charge of the whole parking area. Another visit to MOP will most likely not be possible anytime soon given the danger the poorly organized parking and security MOP has.
“May the comments help in restructuring the overall security of the whole compound. Sayang, lots of potential pa naman, pero delikado nga lang pumunta atarami pang batang pumupunta.
“Looking forward to hopefully another visit soon but with peace of mind this time.”
