Pagkatapos ng madugo at masinsinang screening at deliberation mula sa isinumiteng record-high na 30 finished films, nakapili na ang Selction Committee ng Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) ng nalalabing entries para sa annual film festival.
Ngunit sa halip na apat na pelikula lamang ang kanilang pinili, anim na pelikula ang kukumpleto sa official entries ng MMFF 2023.
Inanunsiyo nina MMFF Selection Committee heads Jesse Ejercito, Chair Romando Artes, Atty. Rochelle Ona, at spoeksperson Noel Ferrer ang anim na pelikula na kalahok sa December 2023 filmfest base sa mga sumusunod na criteria: Artistic Excellence - 40%, Commercial Appeal - 40%, Filipino Cultural Values - 10% and Global Appeal - 10%.

Ang 49th MMFF ay tatakbo mula December 25, 2023 hanggang January 7, 2024.
Ang Parade Of Stars ay gaganapin sa CaMaNaVa, habang ang Gabi Ng Parangal ay gaganapin naman sa December 27.
