Trailers for films participating in the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival are now available online, and one of the highly anticipated movies is Penduko, featuring Matteo Guidicelli in the title role.
Originally, James Reid was set to lead in Viva Film's comic book adaptation.
However, due to demanding action scenes, he officially withdrew in June 2019, citing a spinal injury.

At the H&M and Rabanne collaboration launch on November 6, 2023, in Makati City, James recalled, "I had injuries in my back and in my shoulder.
"So I wasn't able to do any physical activity for a year.
"So I had to back out a little bit. The training was very, very intense."
Although James hadn't viewed the trailer prior to the interview, he commended Matteo and his ability to withstand the intense physical training essential for the role.
He said, "I'm sure that he had to undergo very, very rigorous physical training for the role."
As for his own acting career, PEP asked James if he's currently involved in a new film project.
The 30-year-old actor hinted, saying, "Maybe!"
JAMES REID: MUSIC AND FASHION
Currently, James is focusing on his music and fashion endeavors.
He just dropped the music video for his latest song "Jacuzzi," featuring K-Pop rapper Kim Hanbin, also known as B.I.
James conveyed his appreciation to fans who have shown their support for their collaboration.
He said, "It's been great. You know, of course, the support from the fans has been amazing... As well as from the fans of Hanbin/B.I. supporting the song."

James was at the H&M and Rabanne global launch in Paris, France, in early October 2023.
When asked about the experience, the actor-performer said he got starstruck meeting some of the world's biggest stars.
"It was so much fun. I was super lucky to be able to be in Paris for the launch. It was really cool.
"It was a star-studded event. Jared Leto was there.
"There was Cher, who also performed, Peggy Gou... And it was such a cool, like, underground party when they launched Rabanne.
"It was a really cool event. We had a lot of fun."
James added, "I think the coolest, like the most shock value for me was Cher. Who's Cher?
"I don't know, but she looked exactly how I expected she would look. Yeah, it was crazy."
