Kris Aquino's path to recovery has hit new setbacks in the past days.

Posting on Instagram, the host-actress said that her blood panel had recently shown abnormal activities that need immediate medical attention.

"My hemoglobin hit an all time low, my sodium was as always low, BUT my potassium also dropped," shared Kris on the social media platform.

Kris will undergo an iron infusion — a procedure that loads iron into the body through a needle — by next week.

"My lungs have already shown some minor damage, but my now heart is showing signs of exhaustion just to pump blood that lacks nutrients all over my body, kailangan mag overcompensate [by eating]," lamented Kris.

CHANGES IN DIET

Kris, who is dealing with multiple autoimmune diseases, also has to contend with recurring Churg-Strauss syndrome.

Now known as eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis or EGPA, Churg-Strauss syndrome is a rare disease characterized by inflammation of cells in blood or tissues.

While the exact cause of the condition is unknown, medical practitioners theorized that a failing immune system is the root of the illness.

Kris has exhibited common symptoms of Churg-Strauss syndrome like rising heart rate, constant dizzy spells, and headaches.

She relayed, sharing what her doctor told her (published as is), "Unless i start trying to eat real food and not rely on milk alone, i could be among the 7 out of 10 patients with Churg Strauss who attribute their death to heart failure."

Because of her delicate condition, Kris is increasing her intake of natural food rich in vitamins and nutrients.

Her son Bimby, said Kris, made her juice from cucumber, apple, "and a lot of spinach."

Kris's appetite seems to have plummeted, which explains her weight loss, and she's trying to make up for this by consuming healthy food including juice with natural ingredients.

"I was knocked out because of my exhaustion from having both my Dupixent & Methotrexate injected into me on Wednesday, so I missed our Thanksgiving celebration."

In closing, Kris asked her followers to "please continue praying for one another."

Kris is currently in the U.S. getting treatment for autoimmune diseases.

Kris posted in September 2022 that there were days when she just wanted to give up.

She confided, "Because of fatigue and being forever bedridden; the bruises all over my body that suddenly appear; my inability (since February) to tolerate solid food; headaches; bone-deep pain in my spine, knees, joints in my fingers; and my constant flares especially in my face that just keep getting worse."

But if there's a reason for her to keep going, it's none other than her two children.

Kris said, "But I remind myself that Kuya [Joshua] and Bimb still need me and mahiya naman ako sa lahat ng mga patuloy na nagdarasal para gumanda ang kalusugan ko if I just give up."
