Former actress Ellen Adarna recently issued her clarificatory statement on the confusion she faces with the proper usage of LGBTQ+ pronouns.
Ellen recently drew flak from netizens when she expressed her views on "situationship," stating that "it is as confusing as the non-binary gender [and] pronouns that are out right now."
Miss Trans Global and LGBTQ+ advocate Mela Habijan, using her social media platforms, publicly addressed Ellen through an open letter.
While acknowledging Ellen's thoughts, Mela said that a compassionate and respectful person would strive to learn and understand the matter in question.
"Understanding that there is gender diversity—kahit gaano man ito kasakit sa bangs mo—won’t hurt you. But it will help you gain a deeper appreciation of human life," Mela wrote.
In a post via Instagram Story, Ellen addressed the criticism.
However, she still seemed confused about the significance of learning and using inclusive language, saying that the "silent majority" is more focused on important priorities.
She shared a post from an Instagram follower and added a caption: “Got a lot of DMs like this from the LGBT++ (sorry if may kulang) baka ma-offend na naman kasi kulang [smiling face emoji] baka ma-open letter na naman tayo [laughing emoji] based on comments and some messages I received, the silent majority have more important things to do in life than have a Master or PhD in pronouns ++."

In a later post, Ellen responded to another Instagram follower, saying that her uncertainty about using LGBTQ+ pronouns doesn't imply any opposition to their cause.
The Instagram follower messaged her saying: “Didn’t you know you were anti-LGBT? OMG I am unfollowing [you].”
Ellen responded, “Sino nagsabi? You? Fake news? My best friend since high school is lesbian, I have a lot of close friends who are gay.
“I’m not anti-[LGBTQ+], I love them. Na-confuse lang ako sa pronouns, anti na? Umayos ka nga…kung gusto mo block kita."

Despite the criticism, Ellen says she doesn't let the haters bother her.
In another post on Instagram Story, she said that what matters most to her are the opinions of the people close to her.
She said, "If you're a follower for quite a while, I think, you know, it's obvious that I'm not a people pleaser.
"And yeah, hate comes along with that. And I'm used to it. And I don't have any problems on being hated at all.
"They can hate all they want. I don't know them naman, you know.
"What worries me... if the people that I love and I care about hates me, but they don't. It's okay. Life goes on."
And to her bashers, she left a message: "I have bashers? Haters? Uso pa ba yan? But my message is to my bashers and haters, I want 1 trillion... 100 trillion euros."
