CNN Philippines officially announces shutting down after 9 years
CNN Philippines officially announces that it will discontinue operations on all media platforms effective Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Opisyal nang inanunsiyo sa publiko ng CNN Philippines ang pamamaalam nila sa ere, matapos ang siyam na taon.

Ang CNN Philipppines ang nag-iisang predominantly English-language news channel on free-to-air television sa Pilipinas.

Ngayong Lunes ng umaga, January 29, 2024, naglabas ng pahayag ang CNN Philippines kaugnay ng paghinto ng kanilang operasyon sa lahat ng media platforms.

Epektibo na ito sa katapusan ng buwan, January 31, 2024.

Mababasa sa kanilang statement (published as is), "CNN Philippines will discontinue operations on all media platforms effective Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

"A trusted source of news and information, CNN Philippines is accessible on free-to-air TV, cable and digital platforms."

Nagpasalamat din ang giant news channel sa lahat ng kanilang staff at partners na naging katuwang nila sa pagbibigay ng balita at impormasyong makatotohanan sa kanilang mga manonood.

Anila, "To our staff, we thank you for your commitment and dedication. To our partners, including CNN Worldwide, and Turner Broadcasting, we thank you for your support.

Kasunod ng pahayag ng CNN Philippines ay naglabas din ng official statement ang Nine Media Corp.

Ang Nine Media Corp., na dating kilala bilang Solar Television Network, Inc. (STNI), ang nagmamay-ari at nag-o-operate ng CNN Philippines.

Sa kanilang statement, kinumpirma nilang pagkalugi ng kumpanya ang dahilan kaya nagdesisyon silang tapusin na ang kanilang licensing agreement at tuluyan nang isara ang CNN Philippines.

Saad ng Nine Media Corp.,"It is with deep regret that the management of Nine Media Corporation (NMC) announces the discontinuation of its news and production operations on all media platforms, branded as CNN Philippines (CNNPH), effective 31 January 2024.

"The decision follows significant financial losses sustained over the past years, despite rigorous efforts to adapt and innovate in a rapidly evolving and challenging media landscape."

Buong pusong nagpasalamat din ang Nine Media Corp. sa lahat ng kanilang empleyado dahil sa talento at dedikasyong ibinigay ng mga ito sa CNN Philippines simula pa noong 2015.

Kalakip ang pangakong bibigyan nila ng assistance at separation pay ang mga empleyadong mawawalan ng trabaho bunsod ng kanilang desisyon.

Anila, "We are aware of the impact on this closure on our valued employees and talents, we assure all affected staff will be provided with severance packages.

Unang umere ang CNN Philippines noong March 2015 sa ilalim ng Nine Media Corporation ng Cabangon-Chua family.

Pag-aari rin ng Nine Media Corp. ang Aliw Broadcasting Network, DWIZ, at Home Radio 97.9, ang mga diyaryong Business Mirror at Pilipino Mirror, at ang magazine na Philippine Graphic Weekly.

Kanila rin ang Citystate Savings Bank, Fortune Life Insurance Co. Inc., Eternal Plans Inc., Citystate Properties and Management Corp. (CPMC), Isuzu GenCars Inc., at ilang hotels sa Metro Manila at mga probinsiya.
