Ayon sa announcement ng Dubai-based magazine na Xpedition, si Franki ang magiging representative ng New Zealand sa Miss Universe 2024 na gaganapin sa Mexico City.
Nakasaad sa announcement, "This month, we have the unique privilege to shine the spotlight on exceptional women who are not just bending but completely reshaping the traditional arch of what it means to be a woman in our contemporary age.
"This is her official launch as the new Miss Universe New Zealand (@missuniverse_newzealand) After a four-year hiatus, Franki Russell will carry the torch of New Zealand to represent her culture at the 72nd Miss Universe in Mexico City.
"Recognized as a reality star and actress in the Philippines, the half-Kiwi, half-Filipina beauty is eager to leverage her new platform to address a prevalent concern among youth in New Zealand and worldwide - Cyberbullying. With aspirations to utilize the Miss Universe New Zealand platform to engage broader audiences and raise awareness about her passionate causes."

Dati nang sinubukan ni Franki ang kanyang suwerte sa beauty pageant nang sumali siya sa Miss Universe UAE taong 2021.

Sa kanyang Twitter (X) noon, nag-post si Franki kaugnay ng kanyang pagsali sa Miss Universe United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Mahihinuhang alam niyang may ibang hindi pabor na ibang bansa ang sinalihan niya para sa isang national pageant.
“It may not be the flag that you prefer, but I am so excited because this particular pageant represents a lot more than that,” bahagi ng statement ng modelo.
Aniya, magandang platform ito na ipinagdiriwang ang mga babaeng may interracial backgrounds.
“Diversity, celebrating girls for all cultural backgrounds, breaking stereotypes and empowerment.
“I always want to try something new and challenge myself every day, while having fun and staying true to who I am.
“Let’s grow and step out of our comfort zones together.”
