Real estate mogul Manny Villar is still the Philippines' richest person.
Forbes ranked the entrepreneur and former senator 190th in its latest World's Billionaires List for 2024.
Villar's net worth is estimated at $11 billion (approximately PHP621 billion) to jump from the 232nd spot last year to 190th.
The publication cited Villar's involvement in mass housing and memorial parks as his wealth sources.
His portfolio also includes investments in retail businesses including shopping malls, convenience stores, and cafés.
This marks the third consecutive year that Villar has emerged as the country's richest individual.

FAMILIAR NAMES
Meanwhile, "Ports King" Enrique Razon occupies the second spot as the country's wealthiest, and 224th globally, with a net worth of $10 billion (approximately PHP560 billion).
Ramon Ang of San Miguel Corporation is in third place, and 920th worldwide, with a net worth valued at $3.5 billion, (approximately PHP195 billion).
SM Investments' Hans Sy secures the fourth position in the Philippines and ranks 1,286th globally, boasting a net worth of $2.6 billion (approximately PHP147 billion).
Hans is not the only Sy from the SM Group who made it anew into this year's list.
Rounding up the billionaires' club in the Philippines are Henry Sy, Jr., Herbert Sy, and Lucio Tan with identical $2.5 billion (approximately PHP141 billion) net worth good for 1,623rd ranking globally.
Harley Sy claims the 1,380th position globally, with a net worth of $2.4 billion (approximately PHP135 billion), while Teresita Sy-Coson ranks 1,438th with $2.3 billion (approximately PHP130 billion).
Elizabeth Sy holds the 1,545th place globally, with a net worth of $2.1 billion (approximately PHP118 billion), while Andrew Tan nabs the 1,623rd position with a net worth of $2 billion (approximately PHP113 billion).
Jollibee Foods founder Tony Tan Caktiong is at 2,152nd place globally, boasting a net worth of $1.4 billion (approximately PHP79 billion).

The husband and wife team of Lucio and Susan Co, owners of Puregold Price Club, occupies the 2,410th and 2,545th spots globally with net worths amounting to $1.2 billion (approximately PHP68 billion) and $1.1 billion (approximately PHP62 billion), respectively.
JG Summit Holdings President and CEO Lance Gokongwei sits at 2,545th globally with $1.1 billion (approximately PHP62 billion) net worth.
