Netizens were elated to witness the collaboration between two of today's hottest love teams in Netflix Philippines' Bida/Bida.

The digital show brings together GMA-7 love team Barbie Forteza and David Licauco, affectionately known as BarDa, and ABS-CBN love team Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings, popularly known as MaThon or SnoRene of the primetime series Can't Buy Me Love.

Both pairs took the spotlight in the third episode, released on YouTube and the streaming app's other social media platforms, last July 12, 2024.

Following the video's debut, many fans agreed that both couples would be ideal lead stars for a potential remake of the popular K-drama series Business Proposal, originally featuring Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Se-jeong, Kim Min-kyu, and Seol In-ah.

Some fans went as far as creating fan art and mock teasers to manifest how the two love teams are perfect for the roles.

Facebook user Lads Sorio shared his fan art, featuring the Korean stars alongside BarDa and MaThon, and the post garnered thousands of likes and shares.

DAVID LICAUCO ON RECENT PROJECTS

David is also feeling a little overwhelmed with the support he has been receiving, especially with his projects coming in rapid succession.

His new movie with Barbie, titled That Kind of Love, hit theaters on July 10, 2024.

Up next is the Netflix premiere of his upcoming series, Pulang Araw, on July 26, 2024, three days ahead of its television premiere. The series stars David and Barbie, with Alden Richards, Sanya Lopez, and Dennis Trillo.

David is not only grateful for the support given his romantic comedy film, he is hopeful that more people will support local cinema.

He says, "I see a lot of good reviews on Twitter. I think it deserves to be watched by so many people, and I hope people really go to the cinemas to watch the movie. Dahil napakaganda ng pelikula e, light lang tapos may matututunan talaga."

Turning serious, David praises his love-team partner, saying, "Napakagaling ni Barbie, so sana mapanood ng marami."
