Aussie band HSCC treasures Manila leg of concert tour

Filipino concertgoers went on a trip down memory lane as the Australian cover band Hindley Street Country Club (HSCC) brought classic hits to life during their Manila concert held on September 29, 2024, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

Filipinos enjoyed a nostalgic journey as the Australian cover band Hindley Street Country Club (HSCC) brought classic hits to life during their Manila concert.

On September 29, 2024, HSCC headlined a one-night show at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, marking their first international performance outside Australia.

The concert was made possible by Ovation Productions and Main Events Asia.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) attended the concert, capturing some of the memorable moments from their show.

HSCC LIVE IN MANILA: NOSTALGIC PERFORMANCES

Known for their amazing covers on Facebook and YouTube, with over 1.11 million followers on the video-sharing platform alone, HSCC delivered their renditions of various classics with great preparation.

For two hours and thirty minutes, the viral cover band enthralled the audience with their diverse setlist, showcasing hits from artists like Toto, The Real Thing, and Queen, among many others.

Some of the songs they performed include “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” “Live and Let Die,” “You to Me Are Everything,” “Careless Whisper,” “Rosanna,” “Easy Lover,” and “Under Pressure."

The concert venue buzzed with energy as the band launched into dance hits. The crowd began to warm up with their rendition of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," and burst into dance as they played Earth, Wind & Fire's "September."

A standout moment was Kat Jade’s solo performance of “I Have Nothing,” which showcased her vocal prowess and elicited thunderous cheers and goosebumps from the audience.

Fans were also delighted by Kat and Constantine Delo’s duet of “I Don’t Want to Talk About It,” prompting many to wave their phones with flashlights on. The concertgoers sang the chorus in unison and enjoyed the instrumental break, evoking emotions and memories.

Jordan Lennon further energized the audience by stepping off the stage to interact with fans while singing “Kiss on My List,” welcoming selfies and small dances.

Danny Lopresto impressed the crowd with his harmonica skills during “Piano Man” and his rendition of “I Want to Know What Love Is,” which stirred emotions and prompted another sea of lights from phones.

Concertgoers also had fun singing along with their performance of “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now."

HSCC: A SPECIAL MEMORY

The encore was truly unforgettable for their fans.

As the band returned to the stage, Jordan led with the lively chants of Hotdog's "Manila," prompting the audience to join in and carry on the song acapella.

The concert party then amped up once more with a spirited performance of Earth, Wind & Fire's "Boogie Wonderland."

During the concert, Constantine expressed his gratitude to their fans, saying, “I’ve traveled around nations for many years… for all the cities I’ve been to, nothing and no one compares to the warmth and generosity and the love of the Filipino people.”

He added, “Thank you for coming tonight… This is our first, first headlining concert anywhere in the world and south of Australia.

"So tonight will be a very, very special memory for us, and thank you for sharing this.”

In another portion of the concert, Danny also praised the Filipino attendees, stating, “Manila, you’re simply awesome. It is lovely to meet you in your beautiful country.”

After the concert, the band expressed their gratitude toward their Filipino fans and the production team behind the successful event on their official Facebook page.

Their Facebook post read: "THANK YOU THANK YOU [emojis] to the beautiful people of The Philippines.

"The love and generosity that was given to HSCC is very difficult to put into words. It really is. No one and I mean no one loves the joy of music and singing like this wonderful country and its people.

"A SOLD OUT New Frontier Theater in fine voice with everyone singing along back to us was an evening that will ALWAYS retain a special place in the heart of the HSCC’s journey to date.

"PS: How we managed to get through 400 ( yep 400 [emojis]) VIP Meet & Greets so smoothly was an amazing testament to Renen & Celinda and the whole Ovation Productions Organisation. The HSCC Family [emojis]."
