For rising P-Pop group SY.NC, SB19's success is both an inspiration and a foundational guide for their musical journey.
This seven-member ensemble — composed of Clyn, Sevi, Asa, Drew, Jai, Lee, and Pen — openly expressed admiration for SB19 and other OPM idols during an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and select press members.

The conversation followed their performance at Wow Glow's segment during the BTS Army Odyssey fan gathering, held at SM North Skydome in Quezon City on July 6, 2025.
"Ang isa po sa mga tinitingala po namin is, siyempre po yung P-pop Kings SB19," said Pen, who is the group's head choreographer and creative director.
He continued, "And then mga OPM artists din po — TJ Monterde, Maki, and Gary V."
Adding to their OPM idols, SY.NC also admires K-pop superstars like BTS.

SY.NC's emergence coincides with a remarkable surge in P-pop's popularity, led by trailblazers like SB19, and joined by groups such as BINI, BGYO, and ALAMAT, who are making significant impacts in the music scene.
The members of SY.NC express gratitude to these P-pop pioneers for paving the way for them, both within the OPM scene and on the global music stage.
Clyn, the group's leader, stated: "Actually, malaking-malaking pasasalamat talaga namin sa mga torchbearers ng P-pop dahil kung wala sila siguro, hindi pa mas makikilala and mas mahihirapan yung journey ng mga bagong generation.
"So, yung goal din po talaga namin to honor the ones who paved the way and to also try to create our own path.
"Gusto namin siyempre makasabay, sumunod sa mga yapak nila, pero hindi sapat yun para sa OPM.
"Siyempre, para mas mapalaki natin yung music ng Philippines abroad is to also make our own identity.
"Following them and also creating our own path."

SY.NC: FORMATION
While SY.NC finds inspiration in SB19's disciplined work ethic and global aspirations, they are resolutely committed to forging their own unique identity.
When asked to describe their group and distinguish it from others, Clyn emphasized that they remain true to their core, which is also reflected in their name: simple, yet not common.
"Siguro ano, yung term na, like, boy next door. Yung mga fresh, young, ganun. In other words, simple, yet not common," Clyn explained.
The group members are actually long-time friends, many of whom have trained together for an average of two to three years.
Pen elaborated, "We've been formed po from different industries. Some came from dance community, content creation, and then we kinda worked for quite some time na rin po."
In addition to creating their own group, SY.NC takes pride in being a self-managed and self-producing group under their own management, SIRIUS8 Entertainment.
Pen shared, "So we built this group. And we built our own agency na rin to make it more solid going through this journey."
Clyn added, "We're actually an independent group.
"Nakapag-training na po kami nang magkakasama for an average of two to three years na po. Before po kami nakabuo ng SY.NC and ng SIRIUS8."
So far, the group has released two singles, their debut song "Balang Araw" and their comeback track "PLS."
"Balang Araw," penned by Pen, is based on a letter he wrote for the group.
Pen recalled, "Yung 'Balang Araw' po, it's our song. Kasi po nung nag-start pa lang kami, we really want to relate our story.
"Kung gano kahirap mag-pursue na ganito klaseng dream. But then, some will say na dream is not enough.
"Pero I think that's the fuel. Kaya lahat ng mga artist na nag-i-start ngayon, yun pa rin yung pinanghahawakan nila. It's their story.
"So, once na napakinggan niyo po yung 'Balang Araw,' I hope you can relate. It's a song of achieving dreams, hope, and perseverance. Like our story."
On the other hand, "PLS" narrates a love story that is also relatable to the group's hope for success.
Drew, the co-writer, shared, "It's about a boy's first love and his deep feelings for a girl. It's about determination and longing, yearning.
"It also has its underlying meaning. It's about a rookie group, which is us. Hoping that we could have a spot in the industry knowing that we're independent."

SY.NC: FIVE-YEAR GOAL PLAN
The members of SY.NC recognize that their path to stardom is still a long one, but they remain committed to their five-year plan to reach their dreams.
Pen disclosed: "We actually had this roll out what we visualize sa loob ng limang taon.
"And then, if by any chance na we're able to pursue that, it will be a blessing for us. Pero we're open naman for changes.
"Most likely, we would like to stick on what we wrote.
"And siyempre, we'll accept the help of team experts and those who are willing to help us po.
"That's why, very blessed din po kami kasi there are professionals who are willing to guide us and send their love for us po."
Pen explained their vision, emphasizing their goal to make a mark in the Philippines within the first two years and potentially embark on tours, both provincial and international.
"Actually, our very, very, very goal po talaga is to make a mark in the Philippines.
"Pero looking to our five-year rollout, we want to dominate the Philippines for the first two years...
"And then also, make some tours, provincial man or international, if mabibigyan kami ng opportunity."
After establishing themselves locally, they aim for a significant comeback on the third year and hope to follow a path similar to SB19 by eventually entering the global music scene.
Pen said, "And then for the third year, we would like to make a huge comeback, make it more interesting.
"And parang pag nakilala naman sa Philippines, if God gives us the opportunity to dominate also the international scene, we would love to do that."
In the final two years of their plan, they want to explore more musically and contribute to the OPM scene, especially supporting independent artists, while remaining open to guidance and opportunities from experts and industry professionals.
"And then for the last two years, we would like to explore. Explore pa," Pen said.
"The last two years, we would like to open up for exploration naman po para naman mas makilala at mas mapalawak pa po namin at mag-contribute po kami sa OPM.
"Lalo na po sa mga independent artists."
