Isinapubliko na ni Liza Soberano ang hiwalayan nila ng dating loveteam partner at boyfriend na si Enrique Gil.
Noong December 2023, unang naiulat sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na hiwalay na ang couple noon pang October 2022.

Sa podcast episode ng Can I Come In nitong Huwebes, August 14, 2025, nangyari ang tuluyang pag-amin ni Liza sa kinahantungan ng masayang relasyon nila noon ni Enrique.
Kasama sa nasabing episode ni Liza ang podcast-cinema-documentary director na si Sarah Bahbah.

Pagtatapat ni Liza, mahigit tatlong taon na silang break ng aktor.
"I've been honestly itching to tell people this, because I haven't been very truthful.
"Quen hasn't been very truthful.
"Quen and I broke up... We’ve been broken up for almost three years now."
Quen ang palayaw ni Enrique sa malalapit na kaibigan.
May mga bagay raw na isinaalang-alang noon si Liza kung kaya't hindi niya agad inamin sa publiko na hiwalay na sila.
Una, nakiusap daw sa kanya ni Enrique na gawin muna nila itong pribado.
Lahad ng aktres: "Originally, the reason why we haven't said anything about it is because Enrique or Quen asked me not to say anything about it first.
"And I think—I don't want to speak for him—but I think it was coming from a place of not wanting it to be real."
Pangalawa, aminadong nakaramdam daw ng takot si Liza sa posibleng mangyari sa kanyang showbiz career sa Pilipinas kung saka-sakaling malaman na break na sila ni Enrique.
"And at the same time, you know, I agreed to that because I also didn't want it to be real.
"And this is coming from the people-pleaser side of me because I was so afraid that if people found out that we weren’t together anymore, my career would go bad or, you know, people just wouldn’t love me anymore.
"It was me again pretending or putting the things that I need to do for myself off to make other people happy and to make them feel safe.
"But, yeah, me and Quen broke up almost three years ago."

Liza unhappy long before the breakup
Pagsisiwalat pa ni Liza, bago pa man sila magdesisyon ni Enrique na maghiwalay ay nararamdaman na niyang hindi na siya masaya sa piling ng aktor.
Pansamantala raw itong ipinagsawalang-bahala ni Liza sa takot niyang sabihin at kumprontahin si Enrique sa tunay niyang nararamdaman.
Pag-amin pa ni Liza: "A year before I actually broke up with him, there were already signs that were showing me that I was unhappy.
"But because I had built up this kind of toxic habit of pushing away anything that I felt, like, bothered me, because I was afraid of confrontation, I decided to just swallow it, or, like, sweep everything under the rug.
"I remember I did a mental check with myself, and I accepted that there were certain things about him that I wasn't okay with, and that it's just always going to be like that.
"And that's just life, like, you have to win some, lose some. You have to deal with the good and the bad."

Noong mga panahon daw na iyon, pakiramdam ni Liza na si Enrique na ang lalaking papakasalan niya.
"So I was, like, mentally telling myself these things, because we were already, at that point, almost eight years together.
"And I was genuinely expecting us to get married, like soon, but then that didn't happen."
Bagamat nauwi sa hiwalayan ang noo'y masaya nilang pagsasama, masasabi raw ni Liza na hanggang sa huli ay hindi nawala ang buong-pusong pagmamahal nila sa isa't isa ni Enrique.
Sabi ni Liza: "I would say it was such a beautiful breakup because it was still so, so full of love.
"It was so hard for me to actually break up with him because I love him.
"I still love him as a person."
LIZA CONSIDERS ENRIQUE As her "childhood best friend"
Sa puntong magbalik-tanaw ni Liza sa relasyon nila noon ni Enrique ay hindi na niya napigilang maging emosyunal.
Aniya, malaking parte ng buhay at pagkatao niya si Enrique na itinuturing niyang "childhood best friend" hindi lang basta boyfriend.
Ani Liza, "When I look back at like our time together, I just see good moments all the time.
"He’s like, I think of him as like a childhood best friend."
Aminado si Liza na labis siyang naapektuhan sa kanilang hiwalayan.
Minsan iniisip raw niya na kung nanatili siyang matatag ay baka masaya at sila pa ngayon ni Enrique.
Ngunit sa isang banda, mas nananaig daw sa aktres ang kagustuhan niyang piliin ang kanyang sarili, lumago, at mahanap mag-isa ang mga gusto niya sa buhay.
Mangiyak-ngiyak niyang pahayag: "I carry a lot of guilt for not being the one that held on because that’s what my fans wanted to do.
"But also, like, I needed to find myself and grow, too.
"And there were things that I knew that I shouldn’t tolerate for the people that look up to me.
"For the younger me and also for my future children."
Paglilinaw ni Liza, walang ginawang masama sa kanya si Enrique.
Maayos daw silang naghiwalay sa paniniwalang hindi sila para sa isa't isa dahil sa magkaiba nilang gusto at prinsipyo sa buhay.
"And that’s not to say he is a bad person," diin ni Liza.
"He didn’t do anything bad. Nothing bad happened.
"Our breakup was really good, it was just, we weren’t a match anymore."
Sundot na tanong ni Sarah Bahbah, "Do you think you can get to a place in your heart where you liberate yourself from the guilt, having chosen yourself?"
Mabilis na sagot dito ng aktres: "I really, genuinely hope I do, because I still feel very bad about it.
"Like, whenever I talk to him, we still talk from time to time.
"Whenever I just, you know, check in on our circle, our group of friends, I can’t help but feel like they feel like I was so selfish. And I was being selfish, and I feel guilty about that.
"I don’t know, I feel like I was born to be the understanding person, and I don’t know why I couldn’t do it in that moment.
"And I forever, like, will hate myself for that.
"But at the same time, I knew deep down in my core that something was wrong and that I would be doing a disservice not only to me but to him if I didn’t say anything or do anything about it.
"So I’m not there yet, but I hope to be."
LIZA-ENRIQUE BREAKUP
Sa ulat ng Cabinet Files noong December 2023, sinabing October 2022 pa naghiwalay ang dalawa.
Ibig sabihin, bago pa pumunta si Liza sa U.S. para subukang pasukin ang international scene ay wala na sila ng nobyo.
Pero matagal na in denial si Enrique.
Sa panayam kay Enrique ng TV Patrol noong April 2023, sinabi nitong, "We’re good, we’re good,” nang tanungin tungkol sa estado ng relasyon nila ni Liza.
Dagdag pa ni Enrique: “She’s just really busy with her stuff there. I am going to be visiting her maybe when my schedule clears up. I think she’s coming back here. But, yeah, we’re good.
“Because Hope is in the U.S., she is doing her own thing which I am going to support, no matter what. I love her to death.”
Sinakyan ni Liza ang pahayag ni Enrique dahil sa isang interbyu niya sa ABS-CBN News noong August 31, 2023, ay hindi rin niya inaming hiwalay na sila.
Sinabi ni Liza na nagkikita pa rin sila ni Enrique.
Aniya: "Every once in a while. Occasionally mostly because we’re both, like, constantly flying.
"I’ve been in the States for a while and then I came back, and he’s been flying. So it’s very seldom now. But we do [meet], we still do."
Pero base sa nakalap na impormasyon ng PEP, may isang interbyu kay Liza noong Marso 2023 kunsaan tahasang sinabi ng aktres na hiwalay na sila ni Enrique mula pa noong Oktubre 2022.
May mga nakiusap na huwag ilabas ang panayam sa kanya kaya hindi ito napanood ng publiko.
Ang "unreleased interview" kay Liza ang matibay na ebidensiyang noong mga panahong iyon, mahigit isang taon na ang nakararaan buhat nang tapusin nila ni Enrique ang kanilang walong taong relasyon.
