Nagsalita na si Inka Magnaye tungkol sa mga alegasyon na konektado ang kanyang kasintahan sa mga katiwalian sa pamahalaan.
Sa video na nai-post ng influencer at voice actor sa kanyang Facebook account kagabi, September 20, 2025 ay dinepensehan niya ang boyfriend na si Mat Crespo.
Si Mat ay isang civil engineer na nagtatrabaho sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa Iloilo.
Iniimbestigahan ngayon ang DPWH dahil nabisto ang involvement ng ilan sa mga opisyal nito sa korapsyon ng flood control projects sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Pilipinas.
“We, Mat and myself, are legitimate taxpayers and are obviously against corruption of any kind. And we want those who mishandled the funds to be held accountable,” saad ni Inka sa kanyang maikling video post.
HOW THE RUMOR STARTED
Nagsimula ang alegasyon laban kay Inka at sa kanyang boyfriend dahil sa isang anonymous post sa Reddit noong September 12, 2025.
Ayon sa post sa subreddit na ChikaPH, tahimik umano ang voice actor sa isyu sa corruption dahil chief na umano sa DPWH Iloilo si Mat.
Dagdag pa ng post, mabilis daw na-promote si Mat dahil dating DPWH district engineer ang kanyang ama.
Matapos ang post na ito ay pinutakte ng comments ang mga social media accounts ni Inka, na nagbunsod sa pag-off niya ng comments sa kanyang mga profile.
Ngunit lalong lumala ang usap-usapan dahil sa pagpatay nga ni Inka sa mga comments.
INKA’S DEFENSE
Matapos ang higit sa isang linggo ay nagsalita na nga si Inka tungkol sa mga alegasyon.
Una niyang ipinaliwanag kung bakit natagalan siya bago nagsalita.
“I'm out of town for taping and honestly just trying to center myself amidst all the hateful rumors being directed at us,” saad niya.
Ipinaliwanag niya rin kung bakit niya pinatay ang comments sa kanyang social media accounts.
“And my comments have been off because nobody likes reading hateful and untrue comments about them. It's kind of crazy how one post from an anonymous account was all the evidence some people needed to condemn us to a witch hunt. I didn't realize that this was how things work now,” sabi ni Inka.
Matapos nito, sinabi niyang hindi magarbo ang kanyang pamumuhay.
“And it's nuts because we don't have a collection of luxury cars. I don't have a collection of very expensive bags. We don't take constant extravagant trips outside of the country. And yet, people are already burning us at the stake.”
Pinabulaanan din niya na nananahimik siya sa isyu ng corruption sa DPWH.
Aniya, ayaw niyang magsalita tungkol sa mga isyu na wala siyang masyadong kaalaman.
“I've not been quiet. I've been posting on Threads about it. I've posted on TikTok about it. I just haven't been as loud about it because I'm mostly vocal about things that I have personal experience in, like colorism, animal welfare, empowering women through self-love, breaking the stigma around mental health, and things like that,” paliwanag niya.
Inamin din ni Inka na hindi siya agad nagsalita dahil ayaw niyang maapektuhan ang boyfriend sa trabaho nito.
“When the flood control issue exploded, the last thing I wanted to do was misspeak about Mat's place of work and cause him to lose his livelihood.
"So instead, what I do is I repost and reshare good content with important information from credible sources. Videos from creators who do political content, posts from credible news sources.”
Kinumpirma naman niya na sa DPWH nga nagtatrabaho ang boyfriend ngunit pinabulaanan na konektado ito sa mga anomalya.
“For the record, yes, Mat works at DPWH. But remember that not everyone who works at a government agency is corrupt.
"Don't discount that there are good people there who truly want to serve the public, just like his dad, who passed away even before Mat started working there,” sabi ni Inka.
Pinabulaanan din niya na maganda ang posisyon ni Mat sa trabaho dahil sa koneksyon.
“So, to answer some of your questions about Mat, he got into college on a full athletic scholarship and started with BS Accountancy, and then later on shifted to BS Civil Engineering.
"This guy passed his civil engineering boards on his first try, and then got a master's degree, and then still takes up multiple seminars just to beef up his knowledge and his experience. So, whatever he has, he worked really, really hard for.”
Sinagot din niya ang mga alegasyon na sinisikreto niya ang trabaho ni Mat.
“And as much as I'm really proud of him, I just never really mentioned anything about his work because he's a private person and I respect that.
"Also, I became even more protective of him because I know that there are so many people out there who won't even care that he's good at his job and that he works clean,” paliwanag niya.
Naiintindihan daw ni Inka ang galit ng mga tao, ngunit sana raw ay hindi madamay ang mga walang kinalaman sa isyu.
Pagpapatuloy niya, “Look, we understand the anger of the people because it is our anger, too.
"It’s so unfortunate that Mat and I, along with so many other people who are not involved in whatever's going on, are getting caught in the crossfire.
"This is exactly the reason why Secretary Vince Dizon told people to stop wearing their uniforms for now. So many employees are being physically and verbally harassed just because they're being generalized in this whole issue.”
Nalulungkot din siya na kahit linawin niya raw ang kanyang panig ay may posibilidad na hindi pa rin iuurong ng ilan ang mga alegasyon ukol sa kanila.
“And it saddens me that a lot of these untrue accusations will just remain posted with no rectification at all, even if they're wrong. Please, please, please, remember that speculation is not fact and to not be distracted from the people who are actually responsible,” saad ni Inka.
Sa huli, hiniling ng influencer na mapanagot ang mga tunay na sangkot sa katiwalian.
“This issue is way bigger than Mat and I. We, Mat and myself, are legitimate taxpayers and are obviously against corruption of any kind. And we want those who mishandled the funds to be held accountable.”

Nanalangin din si Inka na maging ligtas ang mga dadalo sa malaking anti-corruption rally ngayong Linggo, September 21.
