Nabalot ng kontrobersiya ang ongoing Miss Universe 2025 pageant matapos ang namuong tensiyon sa pagitan ng organizers ng Miss Universe Organization (MUO) at isa sa mga kandidata.
Ang nasa sentro ng isyu ay si Miss Universe Mexico 2025 Fatima Bosch at si Nawat Itsaragrisil, vice-president for Asia and Oceania ng MUO.
Si Nawat din ang founder at president ng Miss Grand International. Nagkaroon siya ng posisyon sa MUO matapos makakuha ng shares ang kanyang company mula sa kompanya ni Anne Jakrajutatip, ang dating MUO chief executive officer.
Si Nawat ang head ng organizing committee ng MUO na gaganapin sa Thailand sa November 21, 2025.

THE ISSUE
Kalat na sa social media at sa pageant fans ang kontrobersiyang naganap nitong November 4, 2025.
Ayon sa mga ulat, nangyari ang insidente bago ganapin ang sashing ceremony para sa mga candidates ng 74th Miss Universe pageant.
Sa kumalat na video online, nasa isang ballroom si Nawat at ang mga kandidata na nasa Thailand.
Kinastigo ni Nawat si Miss Mexico dahil wala ito sa sponsor shoot, subalit pumapayag ito sa shoot ng Telemundo, ang American-Spanish broadcast TV network na nag-eere ng Miss Universe pageant, ayon sa report.
Sa video, maririnig na mariing pinagsasabihan ni Nawat si Miss Mexico sa harap ng ibang kandidata dahil hindi raw ito sumusunod sa utos na mag-post sa social media.
Maririnig na nagkaroon ng sagutan sa pagitan ni Nawat at ni Miss Mexico. Bakas sa mga pahayag ni Nawat na mayroon siyang isyu sa national director ng Miss Universe Mexico.
May mga kandidatang kumampi kay Miss Mexico. Sumunod sila kay Miss Mexico nang lumabas ito sa venue.
Nagbabala si Nawat sa mga kandidatang nagtangkang mag-walk out, at sinabihan ang mga kandidatang umupo kung gusto pa nilang mapabilang sa pageant.
Paglabas ng venue, na-interview ng ilang pageant fans si Miss Mexico.
Dito ay nagbigay siya ng bersyon niya ng insidente. Tinawag umano siyang “dumb” at binastos ni Nawat.
Paliwanag ni Miss Mexico: “I truly love Thailand. I have so much respect for all of you, and I believe you are amazing people. But what your director, Nawat, just did was not respectful.
“He called me ‘dumb’ because of his issue with the organization, and I think that’s unfair. I believe the world needs to hear and see this, because we are all empowered women.”
Iginiit ni Miss Mexico na ang Miss Universe ay “platform” para ilabas ang boses ng mga kandidata at hindi para patahimikin sila.
Bukod sa fellow candidates na sumama kay Miss Mexico na mag-walk out, nakahanap din siya ng kakampi kay reigning Miss Universe Viktoria Thielvig, na lumabas din ng ballroom.
Sa short interview, sinabi ni Viktoria na hindi siya sang-ayon sa ginawa kay Miss Mexico.
Sa hiwalay na post, idiniin ni Viktoria ang importansiya ng paninindigan, kahit na mahirap ang kalaban, kung nasa katuwiran.
Bahagi ng kanyang post, “It’s about acknowledging that you have a right to be heard, to express your opinions, and to pursue your dreams, regardless of any obstacles that may come your way.
"Enough is enough, and our voices will be heard loud and clear.”

MISS UNIVERSE MEXICO REACTS
Nagsunud-sunod ang post ng pamunuan ng Miss Universe Mexico 2025 kaugnay ng isyu.
Sa official Instagram account nito, may nilabas na pahayag ng pagsuporta kay Miss Mexico.
Ang IG account na iyon ay official account ng current Miss Universe Mexico.
Sabi rito: “What happened today with @fatimaboschfdz in Thailand is unacceptable.
"No woman, under any circumstance, deserves to be insulted or humiliated," bahagi ng IG post.
Mayroon pang patutsada kay Nawat.
“The behavior of a person who does not belong to MU does not represent our beloved Miss Universe organization, nor does it reflect the spirit of unity and respect we uphold.”
Ayon pa sa isang post sa IG ng Miss Universe Mexico 2025, “Mexican women always gettin up.
"We will always raise our face and soul high, because the voice of @fatimaboschfdz carries with it the voice of women of the world.
“Today we don't only speak for Mexico, we speak for all those who deserve respect, dignity and recognition.”
Naglabas na rin ng official statement ang Miss Universe Organization sa Instagram account nito.
Iginiit dito na reresolbahin nila ang isyu at patuloy na makikipagtulungan kay Nawat.
“Together, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of respect, safety, and integrity for all participants, staff, and stakeholders."
