Anne Curtis shyly laughed as she shared the story behind her viral performance of "Golden."
Originally performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami for the Netflix movie K-Pop Demon Hunters, the song was Anne’s chosen piece during ASAP in Vancouver, held on October 18, 2025, at the Pacific Coliseum in Canada.
Her performance was broadcast nationwide on November 2, 2025, and it quickly went viral on social media.
"It was really bad! It was horrible!" Anne said in a quick interview with the press including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
The interview took place on November 7, 2025, at the 1st anniversary celebration of ANKO Philippines in Glorietta 2, Makati City.
Anne went on to share a quick backstory, revealing that she had requested to perform the song in a lower key—a decision she later regretted, as it ultimately affected her performance.
She recalled, "Ang istorya kasi diyan, pinababa ko yung key nang super baba. Pero hindi pala dapat yun. Dapat original key."
Even though Anne felt she didn’t deliver her best performance, she deeply appreciated the overwhelming support from the crowd during the concert.
Noting that it was the longest standing ovation she had ever received, Anne said:
"At the end of the day... kasi I couldn't hear myself. But all I can see is the faces of everyone in the arena, and they were super cheering me on.
"Parang longest standing ovation ko in my life! As in wild yung standing ovation tapos humihingi pa sila ng more kaya na-touch ako.
"Pero parang hindi na kaya [ng powers ko]."
"So I vow that I will perform 'Golden' again. And I will make sure na... it won't be amazing but it will be better!"
Reflecting on the moment, Anne apologized to the attendees of ASAP in Vancouver.
She also promised to perform the song again in the future and give it the justice it deserves.
ANNE CURTIS: CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
Meanwhile, with the Christmas season in full swing, Anne has already started her holiday gift shopping.
For her, giving gifts with intention has become a priority—making every present more meaningful. She’s delighted to have found the perfect items for her loved ones at ANKO.
"It's not just about giving gifts. It's about giving with intention. Like, you purposely find this gift and you're like, 'Uy, I found something that's specific just for you.'
"[It's not something na], 'Wala lang!' or 'Puwede na 'to.' It's not like that. Everything in that store is special. So it's not a 'okay na 'to' kind of gift.
"It's really... you'll find something na meant to be sa person you're giving it to."
Anne’s shopping experience was made even more special as the Australian lifestyle brand celebrated its first anniversary in the country.
Since opening its first store in Glorietta last year, ANKO has grown to five stores in Metro Manila, with branches in Alabang Town Center, TriNoma, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and Ayala Malls Feliz.
The brand’s country manager, Rachel Turner, also expressed how thrilled she and her colleagues are to have Anne as their ambassador.
Rachel told the press: "She's been a fantastic ambassador for us. I think that connection obviously... the Australian and Filipino connection and the bond that we share through that...
"But also the fact that she is a lover of the product, she knows the brand, she has it in her home, she buys it for her daughter.
"She is, you know, our target ANKO customer and certainly one of our ANKO club members who I think is a really great connection. And I think she's fantastic to work with."
