Veteran actress Odette Khan is in the hospital and needs financial help to cover medical expenses.
The information was shared on Saturday, February 28, 2026, through the Facebook account of Bar Boys, the comedy-drama film in which Odette was part of the cast.
Odette portrayed Justice Hernandez in the film and won Best Supporting Actress at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 Gabi ng Parangal, held in December.
According to the post, the 79-year-old actress has been confined at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute since February 1 and is currently bedridden.

Claudette Avelino-Tandoc, the actress’s daughter, said that her mother has been suffering from pneumonia, emphysema, and edema, prompting doctors to drain fluid from her right lung.
She remains in the hospital and continues to get treatment.

As of February 27, Odette’s hospital bill had reached over PHP211,000, excluding professional fees, readers’ fees, caregiving expenses, and medication costs.
Claudette said: “We are running out of funds. I am appealing to your kind hearts, as Mommy Odette’s child.
"She has served the film and television community with all her heart for over five decades.
"If she has touched you in any way during these years and you are capable and willing to donate, we would really appreciate it.
"Taos-pusong pasasalamat po in advance sa mga tutulong kay Mommy Odette.”
