Angel Locsin briefly ended her long social media hiatus last night, April 18, 2026, to express support for ABS-CBN.
The showbiz A-lister reaffirmed her loyalty to her former home network, even after a six-year absence.
She may be reacting to recent news that Federico “Piki” Lopez, President of Lopez Inc., proposed to shut down ABS-CBN for good in 2025 due to its financial struggles. But other members of the Lopez family rejected this move.

“Kapamilya? Hindi man Lopez ang apelyido ko – I may be retired and no longer an employee – pero ang puso ko, nandito pa rin. Titindig para sa ating pamilya,” Angel began her post, then added a prayer emoji.
The acting heavyweight officially became a contract star with the Kapamilya network in 2007, where she starred in several high-profile projects like Lobo, Imortal, The Legal Wife, and La Luna Sangre.
Her last TV project was as the host to the philanthropic docu-series Iba Yan, which began on June 2020.
She left the show on June 2021 to focus on her upcoming wedding with Neil Arce, and to focus on her health. Since then, she has largely disappeared from the public eye.
Posting about being “retired and no longer an employee” may have confirmed speculations that she has not renewed her contract with ABS-CBN.
Angel continued her post. “True to your slogan: “Once a Kapamilya, always a Kapamilya. Buong puso, hanggang ngayon – para sa ABS-CBN,” she stated, then added a heart emoji.
She also added the hashtag #kapamilyaforever to her post.
Lately, the public has clamored for Angel’s return to the spotlight, due to her ties with stepson Joaquin Arce.
Angel has expressed her support for the 18-year-old showbiz newcomer, and she even appeared very briefly, with her back to the camera, while Joaquin was inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, on the December 21, 2025 episode.
