Si Athena ay kilalang GMA News reporter at Miss Earth Philippines-Water 2011.
Si Nico ay dating GMA News reporter na nag-viral sa social media noong Hulyo 2025 dahil sa kanyang pag-uulat tungkol sa bagyong Dante.
Ngayong Miyerkules ng umaga, Mayo 13, 2026, pormal na naghain si Athena ng reklamo laban kay Nico sa Office of the City Prosecutor ng Quezon City.
Kasama ni Athena ang kanyang legal counsel na si Atty. Aloi Renz Santos ng APS Law law firm.
ATHENA IMPERIAL FILES COMPLAINTS AGAINST NICO WAJE
Sa pamamagitan ng isang opisyal na pahayag, kinumpirma ni Santos ang pagsasampa ng reklamo ng kanyang kliyente laban kay Nico.
Hindi nila idinetalye ang nilalaman ng complaint affidavit na isinumite nila sa Office of the City Prosecutor.
Nakasaad sa statement: “APS Law, through Atty. Aloi Renz P. Santos, confirms that Ms. Athena Mae D. Imperial-Rodriguez has filed the appropriate complaint before the proper authorities.
“This case is now before the proper forum. We will therefore allow the process to take its course and will not discuss the merits beyond what is necessary to protect our client’s rights.
“Ms. Imperial-Rodriguez comes forward not only for herself, but also as an advocate for those who cannot yet speak for themselves.
"She believes that incidents of this nature can no longer be ignored, minimized, or tolerated in any workplace, profession, or industry.
"We also note, without further comment and out of respect for privacy and due process, that a separate complaint has likewise been filed by another individual.
“APS Law respects the rights of all parties.
"At the same time, we will firmly pursue all remedies available under law, guided by evidence, ethics, and proper procedure.”
Ipinahiwatig din ng kampo ni Athena na may iba pang indibidwal na nagsampa ng hiwalay na reklamo laban kay Nico.

ATHENA IMPERIAL'S STATEMENT
Hindi nagpaunlak ng panayam si Athena matapos ihain ang kanyang reklamo sa Prosecutor’s Office ng Quezon City.
Pero sa pamamagitan din ni Atty. Santos, naglabas siya ng pahayag.
Ipinahiwatig ni Athena na hindi lang pansariling karapatan kundi para rin umano sa iba pang indibdwal na takot lumaban.
Pahayag ng GMA News reporter: “I have decided to pursue the proper legal remedies available to me under the law.
“This was not an easy decision. It took time, reflection, and support from the people closest to me before I found the courage to come forward.
“I am speaking not only for myself, but also for those who, for different reasons, are still unable or afraid to speak for themselves. I believe that incidents of this nature can no longer be ignored, minimized, or tolerated in any workplace or industry.
“At this point, I choose to place my trust in the legal process and in the institutions tasked to handle these matters properly and fairly."
Hindi na idinetalye ni Athena ang pinag-ugatan ng reklamo niya laban kay Nico.
“Out of respect for the ongoing proceedings, I will refrain from discussing further details and ask the public to allow the proper authorities to do their work without speculation or prejudgment.
“I remain hopeful that, through lawful processes and honest conversations, safer spaces and greater accountability may continue to develop for everyone.”
Wala pang pahayag ang kampo ni Nico Waje kaugnay ng mga reklamong isinampa laban sa kanya ni Athena Imperial.
Sinubukan ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na makipag-ugnayan kay Nico sa pamamagitan ng pag-iwan ng mensahe sa kanyang Facebook.
Agad naming ilalathala ang kanyang pahayag sa oras na matanggap namin ito.
Mananatiling bukas ang PEP sa panig ng lahat ng nabanggit sa isyung ito.
