The PMPC Star Awards for Music has unveiled its nominees for the 17th edition, with several OPM artists emerging as frontrunners after earning multiple nods across key categories.
Leading this year’s pack is TJ Monterde, who garnered a total of eight nominations, including Song of the Year (“Palagi”), Album of the Year (Sariling Mundo), Male Recording Artist of the Year, Male Pop Artist of the Year, Male Acoustic Artist of the Year, Concert of the Year, Male Concert Performer of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year with KZ Tandingan.
Trailing closely is BINI, which secured six nominations for Song of the Year (“Salamin Salamin”), Album of the Year (Talaraawan), Duo/Group Artist of the Year, Dance Recording of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Pop Album of the Year.
SB19 also stands out with five group nominations for Duo/Group Artist of the Year, Concert of the Year (“Pagtatag! World Tour [Manila]”), Duo/Group Concert Performer of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year (“Kalakal” with Gloc-9).
The group’s overall tally increases to seven nominations when including solo efforts: Felip is nominated for Rap Album of the Year (7sins), while Stell earned a nod for Male R&B Artist of the Year.
Meanwhile, Cup of Joe matched SB19’s group total with five nominations, including Song of the Year (“Multo”), Duo/Group Artist of the Year, Concert of the Year, Duo/Group Concert Performer of the Year, and Music Video of the Year.
Also among the most nominated is James Reid, who collected four nominations across Album of the Year (jgh), Pop Album of the Year, Male Pop Artist of the Year, and Male R&B Artist of the Year.
Rounding out the multi-nominated artists is Moira dela Torre, who earned three nominations in Female Recording Artist, Pop Album, and Female Acoustic Artist of the Year.
