Actor-entrepreneur David Licauco is keeping himself busy with multiple business ventures, including the opening of the third branch of his café Sobra in Quezon City and the early stages of building his own resort in Siargao.
For David, these endeavors are part of a bigger, long-term plan—one that centers on his future and the family he hopes to build someday.
"I think I'm preparing lang for my future, di ba?” David shared in an interview with the press at Bluewater Day Spa's Summer Unwind press event on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the spa's Greenhills branch.
He went on to explain that having a secure and comfortable life for his future family has always been one of his main goals.
"I think, ever since naman, na open naman ako sa goal ko na for my future family to have a good life, di ba?
"So siyempre, lahat ng aspeto ng buhay ko medyo planado naman na talaga yan, di ba?
"Alam koanong gagawin ko this year, yung gagawin ko next year. Pero siyempre, if may mga iba opportunities, willing naman ako to adjust.
"Pero as of now, alam kong anong gagawin ko in the next five years and adjust na lang accordingly."

Even with his hectic schedule, David said that he’s still open to dating.
“Siyempre naman. Lahat naman tayo, kayo ba wala?” he said with a laugh.
This prompted questions about his relationship with rumored non-showbiz girlfriend Alex Manalang.
The two have been spotted together a few times, including at a wedding earlier this year alongside Magui Ford and Robbie Jaworski. They were also seen together in Siargao in August 2025.
When asked about these sightings, David played it cool.
"Meron ba?” he quipped. “Ah, talaga? Baka hindi ako yun.”
Pressed further on whether he’s willing to talk about his relationship status, the actor maintained his stance on privacy.
“Hindi masyado... oo, dapat private," he said.
David reiterated that he has always kept his personal life away from the public eye.
“Always naman private," he said.
While he admits that he sometimes hears about these sightings through friends, he chooses not to dwell on them.
David said, “Minsan, minsan... sine-send sa akin ng mga friends ko. Pero... I mean wala naman. Dedma lang.”
Ultimately, David remained firm about setting boundaries between his public persona and his personal life.
“I choose not to talk about my personal life. What you see is what you get.”

With David’s preference for keeping his relationships private, many assume this is also why he tends to date non-showbiz partners—and possibly the reason his former loveteam with Barbie Forteza never developed into something more.
But David quickly clarified that this wasn’t the case.
"Di naman, di naman, di naman... di naman dahil sa kahit anong bagay."
He stressed that he and Barbie are actually on good terms, describing her as a "great friend."
This goes against earlier rumors that the two allegedly ignored each other at the grand opening of Alden Richards’ fast-food chain branch, on January 20, 2026, where they were both present.
Addressing that issue, David explained, “Nagpansinan naman kami. Nagpansinan naman kami. I think ano lang...
"Nahiya lang ako kasi na-late ako nun, e. Nahiya lang ako kaya hindi ko nakapag ‘hi’ masyado.”
As for the possibility of working together again, David shared that he’s very much open to it, saying, “I really want to work with her naman syempre.”
At this stage in his life, the actor said he feels content with both his career and personal life.
“Basta happy ako. Happy ako sa lahat. I think ngayon hindi na ako masyadong nag-overthink.
"Dati medyo overthinker ako. Mas relaxed ako sa, sa life ko ngayon. Mas stable.”
David added that he now feels more balanced overall.
“Balanced ako sa personal life, sa showbiz... Parang, I'm not chasing anything new. I'm just relaxed. I know who I am, basically.”
