Filipino-Malaysian singer Yazmin Aziz has secured a spot in the finals of Singer 2026 Malaysia.

Singer 2026 Malaysia is the Malaysian edition of the hit Chinese reality singing competition Singer, also known as I Am Singer.

The original show gained international attention, especially when Filipina powerhouse KZ Tandingan joined Singer 2018, where she competed alongside British pop star Jessie J.

In the competitive reality singing show, challengers must go head-to-head with the program’s original lineup of top vocalists to earn a place in the finals. Those who land in the top tier of audience votes advance safely to the next round.

Yazmin first joined the competition as a challenger, performing Dua Lipa’s “Be The One.”

Despite a strong showing, she later had to fight for her place in the competition through the show’s “Breakthrough” or redemption round, where previously eliminated contestants are given another chance to return.

She ultimately secured her finals slot after successfully advancing through the Redemption Round.

During the show's Episode 5, Yazmin showcased her versatility with two contrasting performances: Chappell Roan's “Pink Pony Club” and the Malaysian classic “Tiada Lagi.”

Following her win on the show’s latest episode, Yazmin took to social media to thank fans for their support.

She wrote, “Here’s to the dream that once felt impossible [emoji] Thank you to everyone who’s been cheering me on throughout my Singer 2026 Malaysia journey [emoji].”

"So when I received the invitation to join Singer 2026 Malaysia, I was beyond excited. It truly felt like a dream coming full circle."

Asked how she’s preparing for the finals, Yazmin says she hopes to spotlight her natural voice, emphasizing that great singing goes beyond hitting high notes.

"I am honored and grateful to have made it to the finals. It has been challenging but the experience has helped me grow as an artist.

"People often associate great singing with hitting high notes but music is so much more than that.

"For the finals, I’m embracing my natural voice to show that a lower, warmer tone can be just as beautiful, expressive and unforgettable.

"I hope my performance reminds people that true artistry comes from emotion, authenticity and storytelling."

Seven artists will compete for the grand title at the Singer 2026 Malaysia finals on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with the winner earning a spot in the 2027 main competition in China.

After the show, Yazmin is scheduled to fly to Mongolia to perform at a music festival alongside Mongolian artists Bayartsengel and ANU.

In 2025, Yazmin performed “Chigi Tigi Boom” by Bayartsengel and ANU during Kazakhstan’s singing competition Silk Way Star, where she represented Malaysia.

Her performance gained traction among Mongolian audiences, prompting the artists to invite her to perform the song with them at a music festival this July 2026.
