Inanunsiyo ni Queenie Padilla noong Martes, June 30, 2026, na granted na ang kanyang divorce mula sa Pakistani ex-husband niyang si Usama Mir.
Si Queenie ang eldest daughter ni Senator Robin Padilla at ex-wife nitong si Liezl Sicangco.
Siya ay kilala rin sa kanyang Muslim name na Mashel Khadija.
Sa pamamagitan ng Facebook, ipinaliwanag ni Queenie ang pinagdaanan niyang proseso bago pinagbigyan ang hiling niyang "divorce by faskh" matapos nilang maghiwalay ng kanyang ex-husband.
Saad niya: "Alhamdulillah. I've reached a place in my life where my peace is absolute and my path is clear.
"My silence was never confusion or weakness it was a conscious choice to protect the life I've built since closing that chapter. I closed that chapter exactly 2 years ago.
"To be perfectly clear that chapter is fully, finally, and irreversibly closed since October last year and finalised December the same year."
Paglilinaw ni Queenie: "To be more specific it is not a talaq divorce, it is divorce by faskh with a condition that makes it impossible to remarry the ex-husband."
Ang "talaq divorce," ayon sa Shari'ah Law na naiulat sa Financial Remedies Journal, ay "the ending of the marital relationship by the instigation of the husband (by his choice and his consent), and this involves specific, well-known phrases."
Samantala, ang "divorce by faskh" naman ay "dissolution of the Islamic marriage, pronounced by a Shari'ah court, upon the wife’s application. Faskh is not uttered by the husband nor is it conditional upon his consent or choice."
Sa madaling salita, ang "talaq divorce" ay inihahain ng lalaki, habang ang "divorce by faskh" ay isinusimite ng babae.
Nakasaad pa sa Financial Remedies Journal: "Faskh can only occur when there is a reason that makes it necessary or permissible, e.g. financial difficulty on the part of the husband, presence of a defect preventing intimacy, etc. If the ruling is in the wife’s favour, then she does not have to return the Mahr."
Ang "Mahr" ay ang mandatory gift o kabayaran na ibinibigay ng lalaki sa babae sa araw ng kanilang kasal.

QUEENIE "not promoting divorce or encouraging it"
Tahimik na raw ang buhay ngayon ni Queenie dahil kinalimutan na niya ang nakaraan kung saan muntik-muntikan na siyang mahila pabalik.
Hindi na rin daw niya inaaalala ang nakaraan dahil nakatuon na siya sa hinaharap.
Aniya, "I have been at peace for a long while now, and I no longer recognize myself in any story that tries to drag me backward. So please do not get confused.
"I don't revisit the past because I'm simply not there anymore. My energy belongs entirely to what lies ahead my faith, my growth, and the quiet blessings of a heart that has let go completely. Please keep me in your du'as for my future, not my past."
"Du'as for my future" ay tumutukoy sa divine guidance para sa kinabukasan.
Paglilinaw ni Queenie, hindi niya ikinakampanya o hinihikayat ang diborsiyo pero ito lamang daw ang huling kaparaanan upang mapalaya ng mag-asawa ang isa't isa.
"I am not promoting divorce or encouraging it. It is a solution and THE LAST RESORT for couples who are incapable of giving each other mawaddah or rahmah.
Ang "mawaddah" ay Muslim term ng "deep, affectionate love" at ang "Rahmah" naman ay "compassion and mercy."
"May Allah grant us all hearts that are content with His decree and give us a better future Ameen."
Ikinasal si Queenie noong September 2012, pero nalaman lamang ng publiko na siya ay may asawa na noong June 9, 2015.
May 14, 2024, ipinagtapat niyang hiwalay na sila ng asawa.
